The Hotel is totally run down. Next morning, there was no water to take a bath, was late for my conference. Furnitures we all old and not presentable. I regretted paying $150 for such experience.

The WiFi was horrible. Made it impossible to work. The food was disgusting from the restaurant
Definitely not for the discerning international traveler. The 4 stars is over rated. Simple comforts like stationary and shoe mitt not available in the rooms. The claim of a royal treatment for guests is a bit of a stretch. I was disappointed as I expected more from the information and pictures on the website. On checkout, the front desk refused to print a record of my stay because the reservation was done on Hotel.com. That was a first for me!!

Decent hotel overall
Friendly staff, good location, good (but not great) room, bathroom ok (could be better), really good/welcoming lobby.
This hotel was better than it looked on internet, I was pleasantly surprised on arrival with its well designed and kept lobby area and lift and stylish top floor restaurant. The room was well equipped and spacious, nice toiletries in bathroom. Internet was great. For VI I think it was good value for money, certainly had a feeling of luxury and staff were courteous.
the hotel is very nice building, great location, but the organization of their service was a bit of a challenge. Room service required multiple calls. The A/C was very strong but if it was off the room was a bit musty.
Had quite a pleasant stay and I will be back. Corncierge was extremely helpful and nice. Interior of the hotel, especially the lobby, was beautiful. The rooms are very spacious. All the staff of the hotel were very friendly and helpful. My only concern is that the Nightly rates will increase after more people discover The Avenue Suites and rate it high :) Security here is good for those who are concerned. Stayed 5 nights. And Yes, You must have the Sushi!!!!! Nightlife : Try the clubs/lounge in V.I and Lekki.
The downside: THE GYM! Not sure how the Hotel management with solve this. Maybe constructing a new one on the 6th/7th floor.
Overall 8.5-9.0 /10
Its hard to find a comfortable hotel in Lagos at a reasonable price. I had a weekend to stay so wa very glad to be in this hotel. Safe to walk around, a cultural centre with theatre and music and restaurants nearby.
Damp and Mouldy rooms. Pathetic maintenance and cleanliness levels. Had paid for 6 nights but checked out after spending one night. They refused to refund the amount, was better to lose money than to fall sick.
The kettle didn't work, no supplies of tea / sugar / water in the room. Staff was unprofessional and untrained. Breakfast sucked!!
Didn't have a good experience on arrival. Arrived late. Asked if there was a place to eat. I was told to go up to the Restaurant on the 6th floor only to be told upon getting there that the Kitchen was closed. Restaurant manager didn't seem interest to see that I got food. Tried to eat in the Restaurant the next day but I'm allergic to smoke and there is really no separation between the smoking and non-smoking section. Tried the upstairs sushi bar area but that didn't help. Definitely would not stay here again just for that reason.
We LOVED this hotel. We stayed here two nights at the beginning of our trip. It was so nice, we cancelled the place we planned to stay the night before we left Lagos just to stay here again. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. Bathrooms were spacious. A few more English television channels would be nice. There was a minor issue over one of us having to pay for the free breakfast. But, when we explained we both could have for free the day before, they did not make us pay. I believe I read about that same issue in some other reviews. If two people stay in a room, two people should be offered the complimentary breakfast. The city of Lagos is doing work on the beachfront, so a full ocean view room may not actually be full view any more (they were filling in the area with sand for future development). That was disappointing when I paid for full view. If the power went out, generators kicked in immediately -- not always a given in Nigeria...
Very good hotel, well situated on Victoria Island, which is a calmer & safer area to stay when visiting Lagos. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and the hotel restaurant/rooftop lounge was quite nice. This wasn't a top luxury hotel, but for the price it definitely exceeded expectations for a 4-star in Nigeria. Wi-fi worked pretty well.

One night in lagos
One night stay for social reasons, nice hotel, my sea view was actually the car park but as they say in Nigeria no wahala...
I was pleasantly surprised as I had played down my expectations. I have booked other hotels on the basis of reviews but been disappointed. I was most impressed with the staff who were accommodating and eager to please. The rooms are clean and tidy. Try and stay in the beach facing room if you can, but understandably they are quickest to go.

Stay in Avenue, Lagos
The hotel is new. However, the wifi is not stable even during the duration of the power availability.
The chair in the room is too low and not ideal.
I traveled for business from the US and this hotel exceeded my expectations. The staff was very helpful and made my stay very comfortable. The food was excellent and the wifi worked. I will definitely stay in this hotel again.
One night stay, arrived late, but could still see that the hotel is good. Quite rooms even on the main island traffic route.
Breakfast is okay too, and I think the staff are quite courteous
The price of the room is a bit high in my opinion
I will definitely stay in the hotel.
