Personalized Attention
I arrived early in the day, and Colin was very responsive and understanding of my situation allowing me to have a room immediately. The room was comfortable and clean. Later in the day, Colin came by to check if I needed anything. Since the nearby restaurants were closed, he personally made the drive to pick up food and deliver it to us. The next day, he even gave us a ride to the airport. His personalized attention meant a lot to me. Thank you to Colin and to the Bomboleo Inn!

Apparently they didn’t know that we were coming. The hotel hadn’t received the reservation from Expedia. However it was no problem and they quickly arranged rooms for our party of four. We were able to walk to a local restaurant and had a great Belizean breakfast at Bamboleo!

When we arrived we were told our reservation had been cancelled. They claimed that “someone” called and cancelled our reservation. I think they oversold the property and couldn’t guarantee the room so they made an excuse. They were incredibly nice and helpful through the whole thing, even calling another potential hotel to check availability. But still… I want my money back. We will see how Expedia handles this scenario.

Hi Rachel thank you for your review. We apologize for the inconvenience and for the miscommunication. Your payment was not accepted because we accept payment upon arrival at the hotel. You can check your bank statements as confirmation but expedia and our hotel did not receive payment. Thank you and once again we do apologize for the mix up.

Pros: Clean floors and sheets, quiet, AC worked Cons: This place was… fine. Felt a bit like a place that once was. Those images in the description of people smiling and enjoying a glass of wine over a nice meal are definitely not a reality of this place. The tables are gone. There are holes in the screens upstairs. There was not an option for food. Other than that the room was… fine. We were given half a roll of toilet paper. There were 3 spoons and a knife… no forks. Some of the dishes were dirty. Dirty, moldy drying mat. No dish soap. Window locks didn’t work and we were on the ground floor. Credit card machine was broken so we had to go to an ATM to pay for the room. A bit sketchy to get back to… but I guess that’s what made it quiet. It felt like a step above a backpacker’s accommodation but without the backpacker budget. It worked but I wouldn’t stay here again.

Emergency room
It's difficult to explain our stay at Bambaleo. On one hand the staff is nice, considerate, and helpful. On the other hand, I wouldn't have stayed there but for TAG Airline who arbirtally changed our flight. My stay was fine for one night. One more night and I would have found somewhere else. It wasn't my style or first choice. Our hosts were outstanding! They took us to a local restaurant and pretty much held our hands during our stay. We thank them very much for their consideration.

when I got to Belize city and through customers, the airport shut their Wi-Fi down and I had no way to communicate with the hotel. I was alone outside when I best western van pulled up looking for passengers. They took me through Ladyville looking for the Hotel and could not find it. The area looks so bad, Unpaid streets, potholes, dangerous looking people. I told the van drivers to get out of there and take me to a nice hotel, which they did. I stayed at the best Western Biltmore Plaza Hotel. I Was really scared! I hope I will not be charged for the room I did not use. W. H. COX

W.H.Cox, We are sorry you didn't find our place and you ended up in a neighborhood that made you feel scared. Our place is located in a nice quiet neighborhood and we never had any issues with guests feeling unsecured. For future travels please secure a taxi with us in advanced as we are not sure of your plans before you arrive here. We were waiting for you and had your room fully prepared until 11:00 P.M. We also held a room for the next 24 hours for you just in case you had simply missed your flight. Hence, we couldn't rent it to anyone else. In addition we were not able to charge your card as it didn't allow us to. We hope you had a wonderful time in Belize

Great spot!
This was the perfect spot for us on the final leg of our trip. It’s a beautiful property in a quiet neighborhood and the service was great. The food (especially breakfast) was top notch and Shamera provided everything we could want. We’ll certainly stay here the next time we’re in Belize.

Very hard to respond to a booking by anonymous. And since we havent had any bookings since March 21st hard to know who or why someone is writing now. 3 out of 5 isnt bad. Hoping your staying inside and safe

Dans l'annonce, nous devions pouvoir utiliser des bicyclettes mais, il y en avait que une et pas très en état. De plus, on devait avoir le transfert à l'aéroport compris, mais nous avons dû payer un taxi 10$ US pour s'y rendre. Pour la pêche et le canot, je vous laisse deviner. Vos annonces sont trompeuses pour le consommateur. Autres que ça, l'hotel était propre et le personnel très accueillant et serviable.

Good morning and thank you for your review. We had 2 bikes but one of our guest took one out and didnt lock it up and it was stolen our ad does not say free shuttle or pick up and the taxi price is nothing to do with us. During this crisis we are having with Covid 19 we apologize for any inconvenience you may have and the canoe and kayak are here and free to use at anytime you just needed to ask. We hope you have an uneventful flight home to Germany and thank you for choosing us as your last min booking we were glad to have you. Thank you again

Delightful little inn with the best hospitality
It was a wonderful first stop in Belize. Close to the airport. Miss Vinny greeted us with a big smile and checked us in. We loved our stay and enjoyed our creek view. Cathy, Dan and miss Vinny (sorry if I’m not spelling her name correctly) were fun to hang out on the porch with and chat. Best fry jacks ever!! Breakfasts were delicious. Thanks for the ride to the local restaurant for dinner, the delightful conversation, the use of your pool and for all the hospitality. We hope to make a return visit and would definitely stay at the inn again!

Highly recommend
Clean, updated, comfortable, great hosts, great shower, close to the airport. Complimentary continental breakfast of fruit, pastry, and coffee. in a safe neighborhood. Owners live onsite and have a large friendly dog.

Could you please tell us where you saw a pool being advertised as we would never intend to mislead anyone and would like to get that fixed right away. We do apologize about the TV as Belize is in the process of upgrading to digital cable and does not have enough boxes for everyone. And finally, we have great news that our road has been resurfaced and smoothed out, making for a much more pleasurable ride to and from our inn. Thanks again and we appreciate the feedback.

Best Last day of a Trip Ever!!
Our stay at Bamboleo was perfect in every way. The room was large, clean and beds very comfortable. Great shower:). Our hosts were out of this world helpful...we had done 3 tours that day and drove in from the jungle not thinking about food or wine...they had a nice small menu to pick from and a bottle of wine....I used to be a big fan of the old fashion Bed and breakfast's where you meet people, share coffee and dinner...that is what you will find here....wonderful people but much nicer than any hotel. Just a few minutes to the airport and they will make sure to get you there........Thank you for making the last day of our trip as nice as the first!!!

This place is great! Here I was thinking it's a good choice for a quick stop before our flight back home, and we ended up enjoying our stay here more than the four other places we visited in Belize! Next time we visit this lovely country, Bamboleo Inn will be our destination and home base for exploration rather than simply a stopover.

Super friendly people, really chill, and helpful. They are very helpful and accommodating. Would highly recommend this spot, we had an early flight from BZE and needed to stay in Belize city but didn’t want to, so we ended up finding this little gem on Expedia. Awesome experience

A big thank you to new hosts Hannah & Corey for making me feel at home during my 5 night stay at Bamboleo. I make regular business trips to Belize and decided to try something different to the usual chain hotels, I’m glad I did. My room was a good size with a comfy bed and good quality bedding, a large shower room was welcome and the kitchenette was equipped with all the things you need to prepare snacks or small meals for a change from eating out. As a solo traveller fed up with sitting in restaurants on my own I chose to eat with the family, along with other guests. For me this sums up the unique appeal of Bamboleo; clean , spacious and good quality facilities together with a personal touch. I will be back next February!

What a wonderful way to end our trip in Belize. Extremely close to the airport, so perfect for flights out. The rooms were cool and comfortable and the "gathering" porch upstairs was a fantastic place to end the day with other travelers, sharing refreshments and stories of grand adventures. Dan and Cathy (as well as the dogs) were incredible host and made us feel right at home. Road down is a little bumpy but that would be the only con we could even try to think of.

The Bamboleo Inn was a great place to stay within 5 minutes of the airport in the marina district, Kathy & Dan are owner/operators with a passion for hospitality and are caring gracious host, their pride ownership shows in the renovation of all 7 rooms especially the bathrooms. We felt at home upon arrival relaxing on the common 2nd floor screened porch, Kathy makes great breakfast to order and beverages are taken on the honor system, this Inn is a hidden gem, thank you Tom & Carrie

Fantastic!
We stayed for one night prior to flying home & we were absolutely delighted with our choice. Cathy, Dan & their staff are amazing & made us feel so welcome. It’s a 5 minutes drive to the airport in a safe neighbourhood with plenty of secure parking. The room was modern, stylish, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Cathy prepared an evening meal for us & she & Dan sat & chatted with us like we were long, lost friends. It made our last night in Belize very special in a country renowned for its friendliness. Thank you both very much.

Great Inn!!
Had a great stay at the Bamboleo Inn!! Only stayed one night because we were catching a flight out the following morning. We were going to eat at a restaurant in Belize city because we had heard such good reviews, but, subsequently found out that it was closed on Good Friday. After the check in we were advised that they had a small menu of food that we could order from. I had the Chicken pot pie with French fries and my wife ordered the Lasagna. Both were delicious!! They also had many different drinks (beer & Pop) and wine for sale as well. Water was free.... All in all we had a great stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again!! They also made sure that we had a cab to the airport the next morning!!

Such a peaceful place. Felt like home. The owners were so friendly and welcoming. Served breakfast and helped get me a taxi early in the morning. Nice big bed and great bathroom and air conditioning. Also best wifi I had in Belize! Don't forget to lay in the hammocks!

This place FAR exceeded our expectations. We booked this place for one night when we flew in to Belize before driving to Placencia. What an incredible experience- Kathy and Dan were such gracious hosts. We ate Kathy's home home cooking for dinner and breakfast, played with her adorable pets, and relaxed in the prestine yard to celebrate our very first night in Belize. We are so glad we stayed here over one of the larger chains in Belize City. And it is about 5 min from the airport.
