"The hotel is in an excellent location for staying in Lyon. Place Bellecour, the Vieux Lyon, Place des Terreaux, the shops, both rivers and the Croix-Rousse are within a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel and room were very clean, breakfasts were good, coffee machine made lovely coffee and the staff were friendly and very helpful. Only one negative would be that if there had been two of us staying an additional couple of towel rails would have been good to dry damp towels on."

"This hotel is in a great location for tourist attractions. Everything was a short ride on the trams and the nearest stop is only a few minutes walk (Confluences museum stop). The room I stayed in was closest to the river. Other reviews say the train lines kept them awake, I only noticed this once, but never loud enough to wake me. The only downside is that the furniture, decor and linen were a bit worn. A bath mat and towel were ripped with holes and the sheets were thin and slightly fraying. The water temperature in the shower kept changing, but only slightly. Also the breakfast offering was slim; I'd recommend giving it a miss, not worth the money in my opinion. I paid for the breakfast but didn't eat anything and even got hassled for having a specialised coffee and ended up paying an extra €5. Not much I know, but reception said they were included, and considering the restaurant staff checked me in at breakfast and saw I wasn't eating, you'd think they'd been more accommodating and not hassled me."

"Loved this place! Well located by not on a loud block. Beautiful view out our window. Very delightful staff who went on over and beyond to help us with anything. Loved the coffee and water machines in lobby. Look forward to returning"

"Clean- helpful staff; good location. Would recommend. They are part of a larger hospitality group. The globe didn’t have hot water when we were to check in, so they made arrangements for us to stay at another equally rated hotel in their group. They took care of all the transfer details for us. Both hotels are great. Le Phenix and The Globe & Cecil."

"Very nice hotel and staff was excellent. We booked a Jr Suite with river view, which was plenty large for France, however the road below is extremely busy and very loud. There is also very limited privacy in the bathroom. Shower is wide open and the toilet area has smoked glass providing limited privacy. "
