The bathroom in the room need renovation since it not functional and extremely old. Also don't expect hot water for your shower between 10AM and 4pm since they shut it down during that time. It also a little bit noisy due that you are on the corner two major roads. So overall if I had to go back to La Fortuna I would choose another hotel.

Downtown central location, not a lot of amenities, but you are welcome to use the pool at a sister property about 3 blocks away which was nice! Ignacio, Joy, and Diane were all great at the front desk! Ignacio took a lot of his time to help me book an ziplines excursion, and Diane helped me call the shuttle company when my shuttle was late. Great people, would definitely return!

Excellent location

Hotel was well situated and in walking distance of everything in La Fortuna. The room was comfortable but basic with small tv only showing Spanish channels. Wifi was free but spotty.

The location of the hotel is excellent. Despite the room having air conditioner the window would not open preventing air circulation. The staff are kindly.

Ganz ok-Achtung bei Pfandrückgabe

Zimmer 210 bekommen,wo man auf riesige Klimaanlage in einer Nische geschaut hat...ist eher als Abstellkammer zu verwenden und nicht als Zimmer für einen Gast. Nach Reklamation wurde uns aber ein neues Zimmer mit super Aussicht gegeben. Achtung: beim Einchecken muss man Schlüsselpfand von 10$ oder 5000 Colones hinterlegen. Wir haben 10$ gegeben. Beim Auschecken wollte ich den Pfand auch in $ zurückbekommen. Stattdessen bekamen wir dies in Colones zurück. Trotz Bestehen auf die Rückgabe in $ hat die Dame an der Rezeption sich geweigert und meinte es geht nicht. Das ist vermutlich eine Art Masche von dem Hotel.

Room window next to busy street

The staff and location were great. However our room was located on a busy street and I was kept up at night by the sounds of loud traffic. You you could ensure you did not stay in a room like this, you may have a better experience.

TE CAMBIAN DE HOTEL

El dueño de este hotel es un tramposo, tiene varios hostales y cuando llegas a el Hotel La fortuna te salen con que esta lleno y te mandan a hostales mas baratos y te lo cobran al mismo precio, ellos te venden la idea que esta todos los hoteles llenos y que sus hostales tienen alberca y en el Hotel la Fortuna no, pero son para jovencitos ruidosos. Las habitaciones son super sencillas y deprimentes. Cuando reclamas NADIE te resuelve nada. Fue la única y peor experiencia en COSTA RICA.

Helpful and friendly front desk staff, concierge was very informed and helpful. They made suggestions based on what we wanted to do versus promoting spots that they had deals with. Definitely recommend based on the service and the room did the trick for one night stay.

Lors du check-in, la réceptionniste nous annonce que lors de notre réservation l'hôtel était déjà surbooké. Elle nous invite alors à séjourner dans leur hostel backpackers se trouvant dans la même rue. Aucun dédommagement n'est prévu alors que l'hostel coûte moins cher. Il suffit de refuser pour que 5 minutes plus tard une chambre soit, par chance, libérée ! Pour le reste, hôtel propre et bon rapport qualité-prix.

Check in was at 2pm but we were given our rooms at 3:15pm, as they weren’t ready upon our arrival. It is a good hotel but its location makes it a little noisy, having 2 main La Fortuna streets surrounding it.

Excellent location!

Excellent location and having a restaurant for breakfast was convenient. New staff were in training but did a great job for being new. Waitress was superb! Noise from restaunt chairs dragging at night can be annoying if you are a light sleeper. I would stay again.
