During our three night stay in June we were very pleased with our accommodations at The Secret Garden. It is obvious that the proprietors set the bar high for comfort and satisfaction for their guests. The decor and furnishings were in excellent condition and authentic for the period of this fine old home.
Just a couple of minor glitches. The glasses / coffee cups in the room during our first night were a bit grimy and we gave them a wash and mentioned it to the staff who made sure to supply fresh ones for the next night. Due to a scheduling glitch (Expedia?) we were moved to another room after the first night, but no complaints as the room was a bit of an upgrade and one of the staff moved our stuff while were were out, after breakfast, including our fridge contents, which was very helpful. The beds / pillows / duvets in both rooms were amazing - like sleeping on a cloud.
One other minor issue was that there was a bit too much load on the electrics in our second room, when we used the Dyson fan, TV and a couple of chargers on an extension which was drawing from the same circuit as the fridge - resulting in a blown breaker, but Cyrus got it reset for us and we were careful to rearrange the plug-ins a bit, afterwards. This was the only reason I didn't rate the property full marks.
