We loved staying at Ala Kai B&B. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. They provided great dinner recommendations and places to visit. They also provided an excellent breakfast in the morning. The rooms were very nice and comfortable. Our teenage daughter enjoyed having her own room.

Excellent views, very easy check-in and check out! Close to everything we wanted to be close to and the coffee shop was excellent in the lobby area!

Enjoy the beautiful waterfalls and explore Hiʻiaka's Healing Hawaiian Herb Garden, a lovely green space in Keaau. Stroll along the seaside or discover the area's volcano viewpoints.

Very affordable area, lush tropical forest, close to Hilo,
This is the best way to see the big island. Skip the resorts and helicopter rides, rent a car, and just drive till you see something you want to visit. Plenty of things to see and do to fill a week+. Will be going back; hopefully soon.
It is a rather non descript small town.
Sadly we only spent one night at this location. We would have loved to have stayed more nights to see more of the sites.
Every was unique
