"We have stayed at à few Hoshinoya hotels in Japan & Taiwan but this is the worst one so far. The room is dark, outdated and to get from bed to bath with many steps makes it difficult at night when the lights are so dim. Only tap water is complimented in the room . The meditation onsen is so dark inside all you see is dark wall no day light the vibe makes me feel scary not relaxing. No compliments of milk or ice cream after bath only juices cans sharing outside of the bath house for both genders. We don’t feel welcome from some of the staffs here like others Hoshinoya hotels we have stayed. No greeting, no smiling . It’s not worth the money we have spent to staying here .
We stayed 2 nights @ river front room."
"Lovely atmospheric hotel nestled in the woods but only 10 min from the main station, with free shuttles running a few times a day. Comfortable, modern rooms. Very clean. Cute gift shop. A highlight was the delicious daily breakfast with some made-to-order options. Plenty of fresh vegetables from local gardens. I had the set menu for dinner one evening: Vegetable based menu, very clean and tasty. Beautiful garden-like setting. Private baths are available for free use. They are not sourced from a hot spring however, and have the faint scent of chlorine. I was able to rent an e-bike for 2500yen daily and ride around to see all the tourist sights. Would definitely stay here again!"
"The hotel only a 5min walk from Karuizawa station. Bike rentals are available in the hotel itself, which was very convenient. You can cycle to Kumoba pond and the Old Ginza Street and be able to reach in less than 30mins. I stayed for 7 nights. Breakfast was delivered in a basket at your preferred time (from 7am to 9.30am). Room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was spacious as well and the best part was the auto toilet bowl. Room is cleaned everyday, but if you wish not to be disturbed, the staff will just leave a fresh set of towels and bottled water in a paper bag outside your door, which was a very nice touch. Had a comfortable stay here and will definitely come back again!"
"our stay at the Hotel was wonderful. The staff was very kind , respectful and helpful.
