Wonderful Hotel!

I was there for the first ten days in March, 2020 and really enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and warm hospitality by the staff and owners. Would definitely return!

Very nice colonial style hotel. Stunning view behind on the top of the hill. Very calm which is nice since Kandy is noisy. Room are decorated with style. Bed is confortable. Very warm welcome and service with a lots of support to organize my day. Breakfast a bit light and not diversified and the hotel is obviously far from city center.

Great Choice in Kandy

Wonderful rooms and hospitality overlooking the city. Would highly recommend. The hotel manager was fantastic and very accommodating. Meals were good. We were a large party and had much of the hotel to ourselves in the main building (there is another across the street).

All rooms had balconies with a pleasant view. We saw lots of monkeys frolicking on the roofs of adjacent buildings. Not much in the way of grounds or other facilities but the lobby was comfortable.

The Richmond House was one of the best venues we stayed at during our visit to Sri Lanka. The staff was wonderful and made sure we saw what we wanted to see during our stay. We were able to book the car and driver while we stayed and he went above and beyond in getting us to our next destination. Very beautiful and worth every penny we spent- and very reasonable in prices. Fabulous experience and recommend the establishment to anyone wishing to stay in Kandy.

Lage etwas ausserhalb des Zentrums (15 Min mit Tuktuk) auf einem Hang, dafür mit sehr gutem Blick auf Kandy und absolute Ruhe. Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, Internet sehr gut und schnell. Frühstück sehr gut und mit großer Auswahl. Haben 2 Nächte dort verbracht und warten sehr zufrieden.

Great place but little out of the way

Lovely room with great views of Kandy. Excellent food with friendly staff. Only problem is steep narrow road to hotel and bit out of the way. We had a driver with car so was OK

A grand old building indeed!

Great view of Kandy and the surrounding mountains from the balcony. A little tired looking overall but still a nice and interesting building. Very comfy beds. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast and also had a nice dinner there one evening. A bit of a mission getting up and down the hill but we were in a car so it wasn’t a problem for us. Staff were very attentive and friendly.

Great option is staying in Kandy

Large spacious rooms and very friendly staff. We got a free upgrade to a suite which was huge and had spectacular views over the valley in Kandy. The room had everything needed and was very comfortable. Good selection at breakfast with staff always on hand to assist. Very close to Kandy so handy for trips around the area.

Wunderbare Lage mit Blick auf die Stadt, selbst beim Duschen kann man über die Stadt blicken! Sehr freundliches Personal. Zimmer war groß und sauber mit einem kleinen Balkon. Ein sehr gutes Preis Leistungs Verhältnis! Das Hotel muss mit einem TukTuk oder Taxi angefahren werden (ca. 500 Rupien pro Weg), aber es lohnt sich! Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden es wieder buchen!

Schönes Hotel für den Kurzaufenthalt in Kandy. Liegt etwas außerhalb auf dem Berg. Schwierig erreichbar, aber online Navigation ermöglicht Anfahrt. Tuk Tuk ins Tal kein Problem innerhalb von 15min.

Beautiful view over the valley. A great hotel.

This is a beautiful property. Well maintained and tastefully decorated. Service was excellent and friendly. Noting too much trouble. Dining room was well staffed and food was average.

Nice hotel up in the hills

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel which has a lovely view over Kandy. It’s a bit hard to get to, but OK by tuk tuk or car. It would be a long walk into town and an extreme climb back. The staff were very friendly and always trying to please.

Lovely views, excellent staff

A boutique hotel with a colonial touch. The hotel is located in a residential area on a hill, a short tuk tuk ride away from the city. Nuwan from the hotel emailed me confirming the booking and the directions to the hotel. The staff is very courteous and helpful and communicated with just manageable English. The room was spacious, clean and had a lovely view of the hills, especially the morning fog/ mist and the evening setting sun. The room has a refrigerator and tea/coffee kettle, the TV had more than 100 channels and wifi was good. The bed was comfortable. Considering the secluded location, we had opted for half board. The food was average but the service exceptional. Will recommend it for people who want a bit of solitude yet stay near the city.

Fabulous interiors and magnificient view.

The hotel itself is hard to get to since it's on a really narrow winding hill road. However , the views from the balcony are completely spectacular ( we had 2 suites) . It came with breakfast and dinner included and both were fairly standard. Wifi was weak to the point of not working , in the suites. The rooms and bathrooms were completely massive and filled with gorgeous furniture. Highly recommend this hotel for the grand experience. Price was fairly reasonable too for the suites. We did have to kill one spider in the bathroom but as seasoned travelers it didn't affect us too much :)
