It was awfully packed over the full moon weekend (would not recommend visiting during this period)! This pavilion-like structure at the front Paththirippuwa, or Octagon. It is a symbol of identity in Kandyan Architecture. In the olden days, the king would stand there to address his citizens who were gathered in front of him. The golden roof behind stands over the Buddha tooth relic that this temple is famous for. One Night in Kandy

I only stayed one night at the Grand Kandyan and only wish it could have been longer. From arrival to departure the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. I really enjoyed the buffet evening meal and also breakfast. If you visit Sri Lanka this is the place to stay.

Excellent all round

Very enjoyable stay. All the staff were really helpful and welcoming. The room was spacious with nice views from the balcony over looking the city and hills. Rooftop pool was well maintained and I thought the gym had everything I needed. Breakfast and dinner had a wide choice of foods. I would definitively stay here again.

Looks good in the photos but the condition of rooms were very different. Very smelling wash room, which we realy put off and noisy air conditioning couldn’t get any continuous sleep. We do not recommend this place as our overall experience is very poor.

Excelente opción en Kandy

Fue una excelente experiencia para mi, el lugar es hermoso y el servicio es excelente, especialmente en el restaurante dónde te sirven tu desayuno. Las opciones de comida fueron muy buenas, a pesar que la comida es picante hay otras opciones que puedes elegir, siempre estuvieron dispuestos a ayudar y se preocupaban del servicio brindado. Quizás lo único que no es muy positivo, es que está un poco arriba del centro y algunas ocasiones me costó un poco conseguir un Uber para ir a los sitios de visita, en general Uber no es muy bueno en Kandy y si tomas un tuk tuk en la calle te cuesta mucho más o te ofrecen otros servicios y al final quieren cobrarte el doble. El hotel no tiene mucha información turística y me parece que valdría la pena tenerla tomando en cuenta que es uno de los lugares más importantes de su cultura, podrían mejorar este aspecto, pero en general fue una excelente opción para hospedarme.

キャンディ滞在では是非おすすめしたいです。 夕食朝食付プランが良いです。 外にはロクなレストランがないですがこちらは夕食は非常に豪華なビュッフェです。 屋上のプールは綺麗で広いのにいつも誰もいなくて独り占めみたいに楽しめました。街中から2kmですが歩いても良いですし、Uberでトゥクトゥクが呼べて片道1ドル程度です。

Beautiful hotel

Wonderful hotel. Staff were so friendly. Views from our balcony or the swimming pool area were incredible. Quick walk to town, lake, temple, etc. But very steep hill on the way. Overall, a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend.

Three nights of bliss to start Sri Lankan trip

The service here was fantastic. The breakfast was amazing. Roof top swims a delight. Yes, a few things needed fixing up in our room but to be honest this is five star luxury at UK bed and breakfast prices. It felt special to be there and everyone treated you as such. If you get the chance seek out tuk tuk driver Jenudeen too. He is outside the hotel most days and has great prices for day trips and will take you everywhere all day.

Good Location

Good location with perfect view of Kandy, good service. Want to really recommend the TucTuc guide living next to the Hotel, Mr T. Jenudeen, he showed us a lot of Kandy, the market, Indiana Jones movie site and a lot of other places.
