We had amazing stay at Ubuntu. From manager to housekeeping all staffs were helpful. This place puts customer service above all. Shout out to Vishaw, Indika and kitchen staff for going above and beyond. Besides great staff, hotel is located at quaint beach where you can spot turtles at night. They even had baby turtle releasing event in the evening. Overall I highly recommend this boutique hotel. We had great experience.

We had a wonderful stay at the villa. For our son it was very good to have a nice pool and a beach to play in the sand with his toys. We stayed 6 Nights. It was very comfortable to have a person who is always there for you when you need sth or have questions. Malith was great and we loved him very much. He was always nice and professional. He was available the whole time and when you check in you get his mobile number and you can text him always via What's App and he responds immediately. This is a very good concept. At our last night we enjoyed a Sri Lankan buffet at the Lantern Hotel nearby which was very delicious. The waiters and the people there were nice as well You can either choose to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner at the Villas restaurant or eat at the Nearby hotel. It is one minute walk time, not more. If you prefer to eat outside it's no issue. I recommend to test both and then you can decide the best option. The leaving time is very flexible. We left at 11am but some other guests stayed until the late afternoon and it was no problem. So thank you very much for the good time and see you the next time when we visit Sri Lanka.

Very beautiful, modern, clean hotel with great pool. Breakfast is served in the Lantern hotel (short walk on the beach). A little odd that the service is almost entirely conducted out of Lantern (not Ubuntu) a part from a security guard.

Wunderbares Hotel in seltsamer Lage

Dieses Hotel befindet sich in einer Gegend, die man als seltsam bezeichnen kann. Direkt in der Nähe gibt es nur einen stationären Foodtruck, der aber recht gut ist. Der Weg nach Mirissa und Matara ist mit dem Bus leicht zu bewältigen und sehr günstig. Leider wirkt das Personal etwas verwirrt, wir mussten dreimal nachfragen, bis wir unsere Wäsche von Laundry Service zurück bekamen und beim Frühstück muss man bei westlichen Gerichten explizit das Gesamte verlangen, da Bacon und Würstchen gerne vergessen (?) werden (man wies uns darauf hin, dass manche Gäste diese nicht mögen und sie deshalb nur auf verlangen gereicht werden; dies schien uns allerdings eine Ausrede zu sein, da es ja so in der Karte steht...). Des Weiteren ist es ratsamer ins Restaurant des Haupthotels zu gehen, als vor Ort zu essen. Insgesamt macht aber die Anlage und der kleine Strand das wieder wett.

We had lovely 2 nights stay at ubuntu by lantern hotel. The place is just a heaven and staff extremly helpful. Good breakfast and lunch. Modern rooms. Best hotel during our 2,5 weeks trip.

Vi var en grupp med vänner som tillsammans avslutade vår resa på Sri Lanka här. Hjälpsam och serviceinriktad personal. Poolen och närheten till havet gjorde vistelsen helt fantastisk! Ett stort minus till hotels.com som hade bokat tre rum för sex personer istället för sju personer som det stod i vår bokning.. MEN tack vare trevlig hotellpersonal så löste det sig ändå :)

Erholsames Hotel ruhig gelegen

Ruhiges Hotel. Super schönes und geräumiges Zimmer. Bequemes Bett. In- und outdoor Dusche. Ins Haupthotel gratis Tuk Tuk Service. Etwas ausserhalb der Stadt Mirissa, aber kein Problem mit dem TUk Tuk. Baden im Meer möglich aber mit Reef und Wellen. Am Abend vom Strand aus Schildkröten im Wasser zu sehen.

Spacious sea view room on the beach

Big, hut style sea view room which was tasteful in design - modern and chich. The hotel itself didn't have many rooms meaning it wasn't crowded, which was nice for quiet relaxation. The size of the hotel isn't big, which also means the grounds and pool aren't big but it was still ok. It was also possible to walk straight in to the beach. Added bonus is that we were able to use the restaurant, pool and facilities at the bigger Lantern hotel which was a 3-5 minute walk along the beach or main road. Location was good. Although it was far.away from Mirrisa centre, it was away from the busy part which is only a 7 minute tuk tuk ride away that should cost 300-400 rupees for tourists (£1.50-£2). Breakfast was great. In fact, my favourite breakfast was at this hotel - Sri Lanka fusion style Eggs Benedict. Highly recommended. The restaurant was good too. The only negative of our stay is the AC in the room wasn't that great because the room was so big. Another AC unit or putting existing AC unit on bed side would solve the problem. Sometimes it was difficult to locate staff because there isn't a check in desk or reception. Other than that, brilliant. I would highly recommend and stay again.

Great small hotel in Mirissa

Fantastic hotel with great design. Only a handful of rooms so never busy with a choice of pools (you can use the one down the road where the restaurant is). Staff were helpful when we wanted to head into town or catch the train to our next destination.
