「We've always thought of the Gateway as the crown jewel of hotels in Ames. This visit had several disappointments. No daily housekeeping without asking, however we were not informed of that. So we waited for restocked coffee and condiments, clean towels, clean trash receptacles and tissue. Also our bathroom faucet was loose and flopped back and forth when turning on and off. Finally reached out to the manager and was informed about no daily housekeeping. They did come and restock most items but...

We arrived around 9pm after a long day traveling (like most arrivals to a budget motel I’m sure). Along with another family, we were “greeted” by an empty front desk.
