Stayed for 5 nights together with my 17year-old daughter, first-time sightseeing tour in Istanbul. Wonderful hotel, amazing food, helpful staff, clean, best possible location for sightseeing and public transport...has a swimming pool, sauna, and steam room - all included, our room was quiet, no complains... can certainly recommend as a great family-friendly hotel.

Front desk girl with braids in her hair was terrible. She doesn’t smile, doesn’t seem like she wants to help guests. Asked her for a wall adapter, she told me to go buy one?! Asked “you guys don’t have any?” She then opened a drawer FULL of them and gave me one. Why? Why are you purposely making guests stay difficult? On top of that, the front desk people are trained to lie (yes I say lie) to every guest by saying “sorry we don’t have an extra key card right now, come back tmrw” which at first I thought was weird until I came back next day and was told same thing. I forcefully asked for an extra key card for the room. Heard others ask for one upon check in only to be told same thing. Pool is very tiny; only about 10 tanning beds and about 5-6 chairs. Went down at 10:10 am (opens at 10am) only to find people put their towels/belongings on the beds to reserve them while they ate breakfast etc. That was super annoying. Also, the view from the room was terrible. You either get a view of the “garden” which is just the sitting area in between the hotel lobby and the pool or at the building across the hotel which is old and nasty. Also, room was very small; smallest of the 3 rooms I have stayed in at 3 different hotels during my stay in Turkey (all being 2 twin bed basic rooms). The only good part of this hotel was location, very close to Hagia Sophia Mosque, the Blue Mosque, train station, and shopping/food districts.

The pool was fantastic. We saved so much money on Ubers as all of the attractions were within walking distance. The service was excellent. We felt safe but annoyed with being asked to eat at every restaurant we walked by. Overall location 9.9!

Sura Hagia Sophia Hotel is simply superb for an Istanbul getaway. Its location is unbeatable, literally steps from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, with countless restaurants nearby. We easily walked to all major sites – highly recommended! The pool and spa are fantastic for unwinding. While breakfast was just "okay," the rooms were great, offering stunning views of both the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. For comfort, convenience, and those incredible views, this hotel is a top choice in Sultanahmet.

A nice hotel in a great location - we walked to pretty much all the site we wanted to see from here. The room as functional and clean, a little on the small side but fine for us. The facilities are good. The service varied between excellent and grumpy. I personally would avoid the breakfast as it is expensive for what it is and there's a lot of choice nearby.

In a very good area. The front desk was not helpful. We needed to change our room he kept looking for 10 min and He said he gave us another room how ever it was still the same. The manager told us to come back tomorrow morning you went there tomorrow morning and they said they still do not have any other room available. In the room there was a bad smell coming from the restroom I think all the events are connected. You can also smell kind of moldy. The breakfast options were not bad the swimming pool was really good and the Turkish bath was great. Except for the front desk and the manager is the rest of the stuff they're very friendly. The shower was slippery and slanted watched out when you take a shower. Full of restaurants around the hotel and everything is close by.

This is my 2nd time here. The standards have dropped massively. Reception lady doesn’t understand English properly, the breakfast was absolutely disgusting! It’s tailored for Turkish people! No beans, fried egg etc. I hated the breakfast every morning such a lack of choice. This hotel is not 5 star! At best 3-4 and I’ve only given that because of the location is the best for historical sites. Check out was a joke! No bye, thank you or anything just took my room Card and that was it.

Overall my stay at the hotel was good. They staff and location was great. I can agree with other reviews that rooms have wear and tear repairs that should be updated. Based on that I also agree I would not qualify this hotel as a 5 star. Breakfast was good and had variety.

We had a wonderful stay at Sura Hagia Sophia Hotel. The location is absolutely unbeatable — just steps away from iconic landmarks like the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and Topkapi Palace. It made exploring the historic heart of Istanbul so easy and enjoyable. The staff was incredibly warm, helpful, and professional from the moment we arrived. They helped us with local tips, transport, and even arranged a smooth airport transfer. The hotel itself is elegant and comfortable, with beautiful Ottoman-style decor and a peaceful garden area that's perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. The breakfast spread was generous, fresh, and offered plenty of variety each morning. A special mention for the little touches — welcome drinks, evening tea, and the warm hospitality that made our stay feel truly special. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience Istanbul with comfort, charm, and convenience.

It’s beautiful, you’ll find everything around it within walking distance, service is excellent but it will be easier if staff spoke more English, overall it was a very good experience.

The staff at the hotel were excellent and friendly. The location of the hotel is also amazing But the pictures of the Standard Twin room on the website look better than the actual room, and I'll be honest, single beds were very uncomfortable to sleep on. Overvise, everything was great, including breakfast

Ich war in den Vergangen Jahren sehr oft bei der Sura Hagia Sophia es war einer meiner Favoriten als Hotel durch die Sauberkeit Freundlichkeit des Personals, des Frühstück und der Lage von dem Hotel. Doch ich vermute das das Hotel die Leitung bzw. Besitzer gewechselt hat, das Hotel ist nicht mehr sauber die Zimmer sind sehr staubig und richen müffilig die Einrichtung ist mittlerweile ausgeleiert. Das Personal ist desinteressiert und sehr unaufmerksam, Das Frühstück ist für das Nobel Hotel zu wenig geraten und unstrukturiert. Das Personal spricht dich auf arabisch an oder Englisch obwohl ich die türkische Sprache beherrsche. Wie gesagt es war mein Favoriten Hotel gewesen aber leider nicht mehr für den Preis was man dort zahlt findet man in der gegen Biel noblere und saubere Hotels
