"Loved this place. Huge area with lots of friendly staff. We stayed in a Casita which was cool clean and large enough for a family of 4 but we were a couple. The gym and shared kitchen is so useful in nosara as it's expensive to eat out"

"This property was everything we could ask for. Upon arrival, Brian, the front desk manager gave us a wonderful briefing explaining everything well and the property has a nice beach an easy walk in one direction where the sunset view is incredible. Head out the other direction just a short drive (or a long walk) and you have Carillo, an incredible beach that is lined with palm trees and so wide and expansive it almost seems private. The hotel room was great and the breakfast was perfect, served around the pool area each morning. A very relaxing, accomodating place, I will definitely stay at again when visiting that area "

"Wonderful staff, even decorated my room for my birthday. Hotel is beautiful, clean, and walking distance to the beach. The pools are lovely, especially the second pool and hot tub."

"Rooms are adequate and clean but hotel is starting to show its age. Staff are friendly and helpful. Pool area could use some umbrellas for shade. Breakfast is ok but could use some variety rather than just 3 choices. "

"Blue Iguana in Costa Rica was such a nice surprise. The location’s perfect—close to the action, but still relaxed. Staff were really warm and helpful, always smiling and welcoming. Food was great—fresh and delicious. Everything felt clean and comfortable. Loved the easy, laid-back feel. I’d definitely recommend and I look forward to returning! "

"Almost everything went poorly. They lost our reservation, took almost an hour to straighten it out. Let us get dinner and said to come back afterwards. We did and a different person asked what room we were in. Said we didn’t know yet- hoped he knew. He gave me one key and told me the villa number. By then it was after 9 pm and we had to stumble around in the dark trying to find our villa on the grounds. All the pathway lights were not working, very scary and dangerous. Couldn’t see a thing. Finally found out place and it was not as they advertise on line. We booked a Jr suite villa with a king bed. We got the most worn out villa on the property. No bright inviting colors, and no king size bed. The bedroom had two queen beds and pretty much no other furniture. There was no bedside table for phones, and the light switch was across the room. The bathroom was actually worse. The shower head was not attached to the hose. There was black mold on the shower walls, ant there were dead and live ants crawling all over the floor of the shower. The bathroom floor was grubby. We we&end exhausted so we went too bed. Spoke to reception in the morning. Came back 5 hours later and nothing changed. Went to reception again and they sent us to speak to the service manager. Took a half hour to track him down. Walked to his desk and then he (Larry) disappeared for another 20 minutes. So rude. When he got back I explained, put it in writing and three days later no fixes. "

"I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience. Upon arrival, the room was extremely hot and the air conditioning was not on. There were large insects throughout the unit despite doors and screens being closed. I immediately brought this to the attention of the front desk. I was told there was nothing they could do and was not offered an alternative room. I could not afford to relocate on short notice, so I remained for the two nights. By the second day, the room developed a visible ant infestation. At approximately 8 PM, I was provided with a can of insect spray and expected to address the issue myself. Additionally, I intended to use the in-room safe during the day, but it was not functional due to missing batteries. Throughout the stay, I felt uneasy and uncomfortable. While I understand this is an eco-style property in a tropical location, the level of heat and insect presence went beyond what I would consider reasonable for a hotel stay. This property may suit travelers who are comfortable with a very open-air, rustic experience. However, for guests expecting a sealed, climate-controlled room, this may not meet expectations."
