We loved the location and the cottage was clean. However, I was there for 5 days, and was informed at the last minute that their wasn't laundry machines available, no wifi and the heater in the cottage was broken and only a few towels.

Overall I had an excellent stay at the brocks cottage, the cottage was very clean, communication could have been better from Expedia about what the cottage has to offer and how we would gain entry this was sent through email the day of check in. There were a few bits in the cottage that could be with fixing. There is lots to go around the area but you will need your own mode of transport.

Overall a nice place to stay, comfortable, clean, spacious, and beautiful views. Check in process could have been better however. It was all contactless which is fine, and received emails with the code, but the emails never stated which cabin we were in. We got lucky the first one we went to was the correct one (the code worked). While we were getting situated, another couple had the same issue and could not find their cabin nor could get ahold of anyone. So while it was a nice place to stay, the check in process definitely could be better for people.

Great!

Loved the cottage, clean, remote, well equipped (towels provided too which was not expected) and perfect for our short break. Improvements: mattress on the double bed definitely needs replacing, could only pick up channel 5 on tv but not a big problem, didn’t need the tv!

Great little spot for a country stay, peaceful with a beautiful outlook over the Loch and mountains. You do need a car though but drives around are beautiful

Property wasn’t very clean, unfortunately. Comfortable stay, otherwise. Check-in instructions were fine, but zero response from property when attempting to ask questions, so communication was both good, and not.

Loved the cottage Red Deer. We have stayed in the one bedroom before Brochure. Settee was a bit uncomfortable. No hairdryer although listed as having one, so had to go and buy a travel hairdryer. Disappointed that there wasn’t any hand soap provided in the bathroom Apart from that we would come back as it is very spacious.

The accommodations were not comfortable at all. The pillows, mattress, and bedding were old and incredibly uncomfortable. The heat was not on, the bathroom was disgusting and even though it was mentioned several times in the listing, there was no Wi-Fi. When I started to bring to concerns with the owner he stopped responding to me. We left after an hour or two as there was no way we could spend the night in a place life that for the prices we were paying.

If only the owners would listen to the customer feedback from previous guests! All the same niggling issues stop this from getting g a 5 star rating. Dirty pots and pans, a central heating system that needed to be rebooted constantly, poor level of cleaning generally, all have been commented on by previous guests!

Property located in a nice environment. But, according to previous comments, there are issues not working since a long time: the quality of the matresses and dishwasher. On the other hand, we were downgraded the first night to a very simple hostel and we did not get a partial refund, and we did not receive polite apologies, but very rough answers. Sincerely, we do not recommend this property.

Comfortable remote getaway

Had a lovely weekend in the silver birch cottage. Great to get away from all. Very clean and modern, comfy sofas but bed a little on the hard side. Jacuzzi bath was amazing and big enough for two. The TV was a bit old so was disappointed as we couldnt connect our play station as no hdmi socket. There is no WiFi in the cottage but there is in the hostel just down the hill. Kitchen is equipped well but please note there is no tea or coffee so remember to take your own. Xx

We had a horrible sleepless night at that place because of completely unusable bed. It's beyond uncomfortable, you can't sleep on it. Top it with non-existent wifi, things here and there like dishwasher that were not working, lack of simple basic things like tea or coffee or few extra towels. Nice spot, not a bad cottage that lacks attention and love, and horrible bed that's a trash you can't sleep on. Totally overpriced!

Unfortunately we found this property to be disappointing with poor quality. We still haven't heard from the owners, despite multiple attempts during a multiple night stay. The property was not as described, the photos used were of the best and most well positioned property, most other properties looked more run down like ours. The most notable disappointment about the property after no communication was the quality of the beds. Hard springs through very old mattresses made for an extremely uncomfortable sleep. The internet that owner written descriptions mentioned was available was not at all available. The property included absolutely nothing, no tea, washing powder or soap. A DVD player was available with no DVDs. I cannot recommend this property.

This is a nice home and a beautiful location. I slept very soundly as it is quiet and peaceful. Unfortunately, I had two fairly significant challenges. What made these two things especially concerning is that I tried to communicate to the property manager or owner, and never received a response. First, I was never able to connect to Wi-Fi, even though that was advertised as available at this property. Secondly, I think there is an issue with the plumbing in the bathroom. There is a strong odor that appeared to me to be a combination of sewer gas and earth. I am guessing that there may be a serious leak that should be investigated. I would also recommend a deep clean as there are a number of things in the unit that are outdated and not helpful. Lovely place in a great location that just need some TLC. The bathroom odor and Wi-Fi needs attention ASAP and some steps should be taken to provide the guest with a means to communicate with the property manager. Thank you.
