"Lovely guesthouse, lots of period features, bathroom looked newly refurbished, comfortable bed, parking on the street outside. The owner welcomed us, showed us the room and explained the easiest route for the short walk into town. Left us a bag of breakfast items in the fridge. "

"An amazing space to just be & chill out. B & B with decking, area with seating , cosy log cabin & spacious garden area overlooking tranquil loch. Seals can be seen bobbing about & red squirrels are a frequent visitor to the garden. The hosts are exceptionally welcoming and the breakfast includes croissants, fresh fruit & Loch Fyne smoked salmon.
The rooms are well appointed and spotlessly clean.
There are nearby walks including at Carrick Castle and Donich Falls. The village pub often has...

"Hi.
Good location for the ferry. Thought id booked breakfast in with my stay to be told i had to pay for it. No paperwork on checkin so nice n easy. Really old hotel, my room was the attic, cold n wied smell. Heater provided but i couldnt work out how to use it but only there 1 night n bed fabulously comfy so very cold when out of bed. Didnt want to complain for only 1 night but im 100% sure the manager would have sorted it out, he was really nice n so were his staff. Great position to see Holy Loch n ferry across the water is very frequent n just outside Dunoon so all in all a great home from home as im just 1.5 hours away but think a cars best to see around n about Dunoon yo appreciate the scenery n landscape n parking at the hotel was fine. Will take a hell of a lot of money to bring the hotel to modern standards decor wise. Might be back 1 day but Thank u for your care and attention whilst i stayed overnight "
"My room, as with the parts of the hotel I visited, is in need of refurbishment - fresh paint, new carpets etc - but everything was clean. No comment on either breakfast, bar or restaurant because I did not use any of them.
Good for a one night stay and so convenient for Oban station."
"The water in the shower was tepid at best. Apparently they had the boilers replaced recently, they told us, but the shower was poor.
Kettle had a massive dent in it. The replaced kettle only worked when placed on the electricity supply at just the right angle.
All the furniture in the room was cheap and tacky faux oak laminate where the oak was peeling off.
An electricity cable was taped to the walls up the stairs.
Basically you have to wonder why they bother to keep the hotel going. It’s in need of huge refurbishment and gives off the opinion of why are they continuing to bother offering accommodation. Very surprised it’s on the Hotels.com listing of venues to sleep. If I was Hotels.com I’d remove it as it damages their reputation. "
"Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Very quiet and picturesque location. Excellent breakfast and spa. Only slight negative is we upgraded to a Deluxe room and I would suggest it was average rather than deluxe."
"Fab wee hotel with onsight parking. Room was spotless. Tea and coffee making facilities with bottled water and biscuits replenished every day. Fresh towels every day and housekeeping staff were so helpful and chatty. Hotel is situated on main road into Oban town centre. They have a beautiful bar area which is very quiet and would benefit from offering evening meal. Overall a wonderful stay. This is our fourth stay here and will most definitely be returning. "
"Beaitiful castle in a stunning setting. The rhododendrons were all in bloom and there are magical walks along the paths through the grounds to the nearby island. Dinner and breakfast were delicious with fresh local produce. Staff were all lovely to us and we had a really special weekend. "
