"Wow this hotel was elegant. Stunning views of the Lotte tower. Shopping right at your footsteps. Conveniently next to the subway. Breakfast buffet was great. Indoor tennis was a fun experience. Staff were top notch for this 5 star establishment."

"Basic breakfast, small rooms ( before paid upgrade) elevators that hardly come, a bath with a curtain, only few sockets. In short not what you expect from a 4 star hotel. "

"The Grand Hyatt Seoul has a fantastic location above Itaewon with beautiful views, and that's about all it has going for it. The service was among the worst I have experienced at a hotel in this category. I repeatedly asked for housekeeping and no one ever came. Turndown service simply doesn't exist here. For a property charging luxury rates, these are basics, not extras.
Credit where it's due: a manager kindly moved me to a renovated room, which was a welcome gesture, and breakfast was decent enough. But one helpful staff member cannot make up for a hotel that seems indifferent to its guests.
If you are considering the Grand Hyatt for a Seoul trip, I would strongly recommend the Four Seasons instead — comparable location in old Seoul, and they actually understand what service means."

"We stayed for 4 nights and had a wonderful time. I was traveling with my 9 year old daughter. The 1 bedroom suite was spacious and it was nice having both a bathtub and a shower. The breakfast was a nice start to the day and the pool was a great place to unwind. The neighborhood had a local feel to it and we enjoyed being able to walk to the palaces, Bukchon Hanok Village, and even to the Seoul Tower. We found some great places to eat within a few block walk including a Korean bbq my daughter loved. The best part for her was having souvenir shops nearby and getting hotteok from a street vendor 2 of our nights there. A wonderful place to stay as a home base for our time in Seoul. "

"Lovely property, and overall a beautiful hotel. Unbeatable location. Staff were friendly and very helpful. We ate at one of the restaurants in the hotel and had a wonderful Korean meal.
We had a suite, which was spacious and convenient. Negatives would be the lighting in the bathroom was poor and the furnishings were little worn in spots. "
