Memorable stay despite low value for money

My wife and I stayed for 3 days, which were generally pleasant. The rooms faced the beach, and it was very accessible. Neighborhood was quiet, ideal if you'd like to be somewhere more secluded. There are areas for improvement though. The rooms had on-demand movies, but unfortunately only a handful in the library worked. Wifi signal is poor in the room, you need to go to the lobby to access the Internet. You should also expect momentary blackouts at night before the generator kicks in. Overall, I just thought the resort didn't meet my expectations for the amount we spent.

Nice hotel in a good beach location

We enjoyed our 6 night stay. The location of the hotel on the beach is perfect. The staff is very attentive, service minded and positive. We enjoyed the gym and SPA and our wonderful balcony from where we could see the most spectacular sunsets. We would have appreciated a better WiFi ( the small beach restaurants close by had a much better and faster WiFi). The poor WiFi is not acceptable in a place like this. We do not recommend eating at the hotel restaurant- so many better places around. And it would have been nice if the staff had followed up the hotel dress code for the guests eating in the restaurant...

Overall good, but not exceptional

Overall nice hotel located on the beach which gave a good impression. As this is a 5-star resort, we were not overly impressed by the service, the food nor the supplement in the rooms (e.g., easy to add extra towels to dry hands on etc) that you would expect by a 5-star resort.

Bra hotel med meget bra strand.

Hotellet er meget bra og holder god standard. Vaske personalet og Pool personalet var utemerket og meget hjepsomme. Det er meget god mat på hotellets buffe, men litt høy pris. Bellighneten gjøre deg begrenset om du ønsker å spsie andre steder uten tuktuk.

Nice design hotel on the beach

Really nice design hotel on the beach. Check-in was welcoming and smooth. The staff really helpful and attentive. We had a beautiful room with a big balcony with a beautiful sunset view. Food was very tasty and a nice variation at the buffe. Only downside was the accustic in the dining room.. quite loud.. All over 4plus

Die Bucht ist super, grossen Sandstrand und fast keine Leute. Das Hotel ist leider bereits etwas abgegriffen, essen sehr lokal und englisch lastig, der Service meistens gut.

This hotel's main advantage is it's location on the beach, which was clean. My room (superior) had a good view of the ocean, although the roof of the floor above extended quite a bit further out than the end of my room's balcony...which made it feel a bit suffocating. Air conditioning was always set to 18C but the room was never cooler than 25C (even at night, when it was cooler than this outside); wifi was good in my room; bed was comfortable; housekeeping were very friendly although the room wasn't particularly clean. Staff were generally friendly/helpful. The rooftop bar wasn't open at any point, even though the hotel was full. The restaurant advertises an a la carte dinner option, but would only provide the full buffet. Location is quite a ways from town/shops and you have to have security let you out to walk to the road, although there was a great restaurant nearby on the beach.

Great hotel but service is very pushy

The hotel setting was lovely! However the staff were very pushy and even tried to barter me on a price when checking in. We then were showed to our room 2 hour a later and the three men can onto the balcony with us and stayed expecting a tip. The WiFi doesn’t work in the rooms or by the beach and the only option in the evening is a buffet. The hotel itself is great but I feel the service is a bit too much. We also kept being disturbed in the room so eventually we put the sign on the door to stop people knocking.

Perfect choice by the beach

The location (Bentota, Induruwa) and Pandanus hotel is the best option for the beach accomodation if you are looking for a modern 4* medium size, well kept, reasonably priced hotel. Clean beach because it is 2-3 km from the town, so, only a few options to eat outside in a walking distance.

Nice hotel

The rooms were really good. Only drawback was that WiFi in the rooms are horrible. And so is network connection on my phone. I had taken etisalat and found it very difficult to get reception while in the room. The WiFi atleast should be strong in the rooms. This is the only drawback.

Great resort with great rooms

Fabulous resort and great rooms at great price. Their restaurant needed to improve and so should the room service. Housekeeper was very good and cheerful. Wifi is not available in rooms - only in public areas. TV is a disappointment with poor selection of channels which were not working too. A good entertainment system with a choice of movies would be ideal.

Lovely beach hotel

A lovely place which needs to be better managed. We were not given a room for the driver and on questioning the manager's attitude and response was disgusting and terrible. The area around the beach is clean The breakfast and the restaurant staff were brilliant The manager - a lady - needs to be more civilised
