Veste Oberhaus is a fortress that was founded in 1219 and, for most of its time, served as the stronghold of the Bishop of Passau, Germany. The fortress is located on the mountain crest St. Georgsberg on the left side of the Danube between it and the Ilz, and dominates the old city of Passau, which it faces across the Danube. Below Oberhaus on the promontory between the two rivers is Veste Niederhaus, part of the fortress system.

Looking down on the confluence of the rivers Danube, Inn and Ilz at Passau from the Look-Out Tower at the Veste Oberhaus. It is so amazing to see the different colours of the three rivers coming together.

The most spacious room we have stayed at, it is the size of a nice apartment. Easy parking and late checking, not in the center of everything but still walkable. We would definitely stay again.
