Motel clerks are choosey when picking guests. Had reservation, they were almost empty and was told no rooms were available and the reservation was cancelled.

Good Value

Check in was easy. Room is clean. Flatscreen TVs with HD service. 1 bed room with a couch. Has a refrigerator and microwave. Non-smoking room smelled nice. Room made up each day. Not sure what breakfast was because I have to hit the road early. Located in a really rough part of town, but its tucked away. Fencing and large bushes keep nearly all the parking lot out of sight from passing traffic and riff raff. Ok for single guys and maybe couples. Because of location in this part of town, I do not recommend for women travelling alone or families with children.

nice quiet motel off the beaten path

i stay here from time to time. kind of a rough part of town and a bit out of the way for me but its my "go to" when closer places cost more or if they're full. the parking lot is tucked back off the main road, so never had any problems with people messing with my car. motel is quiet at night. everyone is able to park right in front of your room, so no long walks or stairs to climb. free internet works well. they have flat screen tvs now. non-smoking rooms are always clean and comfortable. rooms are made daily. front desk people are competent. always have to leave before breakfast, so I don't know what they have other than coffee. never see any bugs. I never have any issues here, and thats the best!

Bugs in the bed. Not too clean. They have a lot of room to improve om that aspect .

Very average hotel

There is nothing special about this hotel. But that being said it is not that bad. It had a nice 40 inch tv, king size bed and sofa bed in our room. You could tell the hotel room was old but it was pretty well maintained. Be advised that it isn't in that great of a part of town. When I told my family about the area I stayed at they were pretty surprised.

Basic but gives all you need

Basic motel where everything worked as it was supposed to. Great wifi and fast service at front desk. What else you need. Railroad tracks go right accross the street and train goes by a few times a night playing its horn.

Discussed is the only way to describe

It was absolutely horrendous. There was literally feces on the wall in the bathroom and the rooms stank. Would not move us to a different room and would not refund our money. Had to beg to cancel our following days so we could stay at a different hotel.

Fit the bill!

I went to a ball game, but due to area flooding, was unable to get home. I needed an inexpensive yet clean and safe place to stay overnight. This fit the bill. The neighborhood may not be the best, but the front desk staff is pleasant, the property and room clean and quiet, and I was able to get some sleep after a stressful evening.

The room was dirty and smelled horrible. Looked like someone was already staying there. Front desk was hesitant on helping me locate better accommodations and still charged me for one day. I was extremely unhappy.

An outstanding value

As many other reviewers have noted, this motel is an outstanding value for the money. True, the facility is a little dated, but the room was in 100% working order and was spotlessly clean. I have stayed in many other "better" motels (bigger name and higher prices) that had moldy bathrooms, broken A/C, broken towel bars and shower rods (that previous guests had used as grab handles and had gone unrepaired). NONE of that was present in my room at Budget Host, Hempstead Inn. Add in the lower prices, and it is an outstanding value. I would not hesitate to stay there again.
