"My family of four stayed at La Nueva for four nights. The staff was extremely hospitable in all aspects. Their concierge, Jimmy, coordinated with me weeks in advance and helped to plan great trips to Sa Pa, Ninh Binh and our eventual departure to Hue. He also helped to arrange a private driver and cruise to a much less crowded section of Ha Long. It all worked out perfectly.

"From the initial contact, to arrange the airport transfer, and all through my fortnight stay at this wonderful hotel I was met with great service and friendly staff who wanted to help me enjoy my stay as much as possible. "I took the standard room and it was very clean and modern. It is very small and compact, you litterally open the door into the bedroom and there is another door for bathroom. It was very hot when I was there, the A/C wasn't very strong but with the fan on, I could sleep well. The door key is also used to power the room and this is common in many places. So during the day, the room got hot and the fridge, warm. It takes about 20 min for the room to cool down once you put the power back on since it is a small room. There was a power outage in the middle of the night so it got real hot, for about an hour while power was restored. I heard power outages are comon in Hanoi so not the hotel's fault. For the price and location, you can't go wrong. If you want your fridge and room to stay cool during the day, I was told (unfortunately only during checkout) that I could have asked for a second key. "

"The location is excellent for a visit to the Old Quarter. The staff were very helpful and super attentive. We booked a junior suite, which is a little misleading for a room basically big enough for a king-sized bed and no separate bathroom, but, size aside, the room was comfortable and the breakfast spread was varied and ample. Everything worked and we would certainly stay there again."
