Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities
The hotel really smells so strongly of cigarettes and is overall quite dirty. There was also communal bathrooms and showers, no private washrooms. Expedia did NOT highlight this. As well, the photos do not match the reality. Tatami mats were very comfy and it was within easy walking distance of some amazing stuff. Staff were very kind.
There was no acknowledgment that the unbearable cigarette smoke smell was a problem. Nose blindness from staff made it a problem for me the dissatisfied client. Unable to sleep, shower (shower head broken) or have a decent breakfast.
We could leave our luggages before the check in and the breakfast was ok, also the staff was nice. The location was also super. Thats why I cannot give just one star.
The japanese room was really terrible. It was bigger than the other rooms but on the walls and the doors of the wardrobe were disgusting. Brown stains and dirt marks everywhere. Also on expedia it was not mentioned that the bath and toiletes are shared. The shower was not usable but the women toilet was clean. Also there was a public bath and this was cool.
But the mens toilet was really disgusting! Poop was everywhere! On the walls and the paper holder. In general we were just afraid to touch something in this hotel...
The whole hotel smelled of smoke. I had to wear a breathing mask to bed. The shared bathroom assignments were confusingly marked. My mattress was damaged with a lengthwise divot. This hotel is in the city's party area. This was the last affordable Expedia listings for my night near the train station. It was a holiday weekend and most of the other customers were partiers or hook-ups. I absolutely do not recommend this hotel.
Oid style Japanese hotel. Smoke smell bad even when i asked for non smok8ng room. Noise never stopped, people drunk in halls and party all night. Could here other room pee fyi and shower. Front desk not helpful and could not answer even with google translate.
