"Sunset Motel is in downtown Murphy. Close to great restaurants and shopping. This retro motel is quiet and clean. Staff is friendly."

"I trust Hampton Inn to provide a confortable, pleasant experience. In Murphy, NC we were not let down. The staff from the front desk (when I had a question) to the delightful breakfast (prepared by the lovely Linda) were courteous and kind in true Southern style. We were in town for a Memorial Service and found the staff gracious and sympathetic. Best regards, Mary Colleary Braintree, Mass."

"This is our favorite place to stay in the mountains. Great value for the price. The breakfast is very good and the coffee is decent. Lots of breakfast choices even fruit salad. Waffle maker. Best part of breakfast is the picture window that overlooks the Mountain View. The rooms are what you would expect and clean. The location is central allowing travel to Helen and Blue Ridge areas."

"Clean rooms, but hall rugs dusty Check in, no orientation of places like options to eat with in hotel or about Cesars reward card, just “here is your key” Food options were good, but expensive restaurant in 10th floor, also an old lady working at Panda Express was rude Rest of staff no smile but nice."

"We were very impressed with the accommodations. The furniture, decor, kitchen was well equipped for a weekend getaway. The suite was perfect for 2 people and our teen slept on the couch, but ended up in the massive king bed alongside us the second night. The Lodge is a cool area for recreating and the bar (opening soon) was a hip little addition—LOVE the ceiling. We enjoyed eating on the back patio in the evening and we even had a visit from a black bear while sitting just outside the back door one evening. It made it’s way to the neighbors quickly. We had dinner in town at Frida’s, lunch at Angel’s Cafe, drinks at the open bar (family friendly) next door to Frida’s along with shopping the boutiques. Took a dip at the cove on Lake Burton which was very refreshing on a warm day. Meeting the owners we learned about what was coming soon:opening the bar, restaurant and adding fun additions to the lodge for camping/glamping. Would be a great family getaway spot or even a business getaway."

"Check in is fast. If you have a service animal,they do make you fill out a form on what it's trained to do. The breakfast was regular Continental,no protein. The pool is down,but honestly I think it always will be. There was a sewing needle buried long ways in the carpet . My husband snagged his bare foot on it. It bleed a fair amount. He dug the needle out of the carpet. It was rusted,so thank God he's had his tetanus shot. Wear shoes in the rooms. It was quiet for the most part,and no one bothered us. The hotel needs some updating . The rooms are really humid. We had to empty the humidifier in our room and clean it out. It had a lot of mold in it,and was full of water. The blankets on the room beds were damp with humidity when we got there. You could smell the dampness in the room. It was an okay stay,but it is an older hotel with some problems,so remember that when you stay"
