Typical older British hotel, adequate but not up to modern standards. Room and bed were comfortable. Breakfast was good and the staff pleasant. Car park is around the back and is fine but it isn't that easy to find the way in. Peeling wallpaper in my bedroom was a low point.

First impression was a rather dated place. But free car park and nice welcome and quick check in with details about my stay. The room looked dated but clean and comfortable. Had four good night sleep, the shower was good and 4 lovely breakfasts. For the money I paid I was well pleased with my stay. I would happily stay again if I was there :)

Good breakfast, helpful staff, clean room, shower needs replacing, generally a tad tired all round, still thought it ok and will use again. Not good for people with an issue with stairs.

I spent 3 nights in the bear hotel, hotel is old and just what I was expecting, food was great and reasonable prices room and bed was clean staff were fantastic and I would definitely recommend it and I would stay again, definitely not 5 stars but did the job for me and my son visiting the goodwood festival of speed . Free parking and reasonable prices for drinks at the bar.

Friendly and helpful staff. Good parking. Cosy pub. Got a room above the pub, though, and you could hear the conversations taking place downstairs.

There is no handicap ramp or lift to access the rooms. This was not mentioned in the website description. And there is no staff to help moving baggage upstairs using the staircase. Food in the bar is good. But rug in the hallway is dangerous to precipitate a fall.
