Saint Sophia Cathedral 聖索菲亜教堂(Shèng Suǒfēiyà Jiàotáng) is situated at Daolitou long street,Harbin city. It was first constructed in 1907 and is now the biggest church of Eastern Orthodox in China. The walls of the church are simply constructed from redbricks. the church is 36m high.with 5 domes big or small.It covers an area of 721sq.m and is a typical representative of Byzantine architecture.It is now the muncipal architecture art museum of Harbin and a key cultural relics unit under state protection.

Harbin is located in the northeast frontier of china and is the capital of Heilongjiang province.it is one of the coldest cities in china. winter here is long & the mercury in the winter(dec to mid of february) gradually drops to -25 to -35 degree centigrade..
For the 1st time in my life I have been to such a place,where everything is ice and everything is in ice.the festival featured giant pagodas, skyscrapers, an Egyptian Sphinx and even a full-scale Disney castle ,birds nest,colosseums and a lot more rendered entirely in ice.the event also offers a wide range of wintry activities, including ice swimming(in songjiang river), hot air ballooning and other sports, as well as a fireworks display.

Very good staff service in helping us check-in, order macdonalds (Vicky Yang) on our behalf, and helping us with luggage queries with Air China. Front counter however can be more proactive as i am left standing there for a few mins b4 i approach them.

My husband and I traveled from Chicago and stayed at this hotel for 8 nights while touring Harbin. We had a wonderful stay experience - very friendly staff, excellent amendities, and super convenient location. All for a very friendly price :) We hope to come back here some day!

At 6 AM they start shouting, yelling and selling the fresh catch.By an hour end almost all stuff is sold out.This whole show was very Chinese old style vendors selling and costumers equally loud and excited to bargain for deals. Was great to watch this show. The fishes , vegetables were fresh and mostly home grown,so naturally organic.
