  • I would not usually consider a garden a must-see experience, but I am really glad a local told us to visit Hamilton Gardens. The experience of wandering through a maze of hedges that open into perfectly cultivated gardens plucked complete from other countries and other eras was quite possibly the closest I will ever come to feeling like Alice in Wonderland come to life. You never know what magical sight waits around the next bend in the path.

  • A few kilometres downstream from Lake Taupo the river changes to some rapids for a short distance. When the rapids finish there is a drop which creates a waterfall. It all ends with this scene which is stunning. Only a 30 second walk from the car park to the river this shot was taken about a 5 minute walk further downstream on the main track at sunrise.

Rugby league weekend

Excellent host,fast book in explained everything clearly. Close to fmg stadium and supermarket. Very clean and has everything you need including a kitchenette. Only negative there is no sky TV

The manager personally phoned me as we were running late to check in. He went out of his way to put heater on and have the room nice and cozy when we arrived well after 11pm.

Was a clean tidy motel...quiet...only thing I saw as a issue was a broken window handle in bathroom..so couldn't close causing a cool draft in bathroom. Otherwise highly recommend.

Greeted by lovely, welcoming staff. Place was fine and quiet - stayed in bottom room. The room had a bit of damage - sat on dining room chair andit was very wobbly - lucky I didn't actually break it and bit of a hole in bathroom door. The outside / roadside of the property just had rubbish that looked as if it had been there for a while but grounds inside were well kept.

Quiet room away from traffic noise. Blinds over kitchen window & vents in bathroom full of dust & need a good clean. Matress on double bed needs replacing felt like i was falling onto the floor A number of cigarette burns in bedroom curtains made the room look untidy (unit was non smoking) No contact wuth management after collecting room key & appeared to be no way to contact them if needed in emergency. Ok as a last resort but would not be my first choice to stay

Mostly good, the staff are really kind gave a free upgrade, room was clean and pleasant to be in amenities were great free wifi free tea, coffee and hot chocolates. Only issue was this morning when a couple were arguing and abusive to each other. Cops came out to the place to but for the price I'm impressed
