Former Devon Gt Consols mine 1978. Photograph taken of the chimney stack marked on OS maps and probably the location of former Wheal Anna Maria at Devon Gt Consols Mine, Blanchdown Wood near Gunnislake. The chimney was probably part of an arsenic flue, hence the lack of vegetation in 1976.

Mine spoil dumps, near Gunnislake. These dumps are spoil from the former copper mine, Bedford United, situated above the east bank of the Tamar on the Devon side of the river. Vegetation has failed to take full hold in this 1978 photo probably because of the arsenic content of the crushed or burnt ore residues.

Room was spotless, bed was so comfy and the shower was amazimg, even tje food was fantastic the only down fall i had but nothing serious was the heating not working in the room, i had put the thermostat on 28 but no heat was coming out and i was quite cold. But didnt complain cos i was only there ...
