「We stayed for one night only and the reception was friendly. We bought a plug-in air freshener as the room smelt funky. The single bed was uncomfortable. Very noisy at night due to karaoke - but this was the summer in Paignton so I guess it’s normal. Hotel is near the main strip so very convenient. 」

「The hotel suite was sadly lacking in design attention and had no air conditioning. It requires full redecorating to match the finery in the public areas. The staff however were excellent- well done all of you. Breakfast was also lovely and plenty of it, staff remained calm and were professional under pressure at busy times.」

「Had a lovely night away. Room was clean and nice to have a fridge with fresh milk for coffee etc. Breakfast was delicious and lots of choice. Outside areas are great for relaxing and nice to have an outside pool. In a quiet area but within walking distance to the beach, train station and town. Great hosts. Would definitely recommend. 「We stayed at the Derwent, we had requested for rooms close but were put on completely different floors. The hotel is very dated and is overdue an upgrade. The rooms are tired looking. We found some of the staff a little aloof and not many smiles around on reception or in the bars. The amenities are good. The outdoor and indoor pools looked good. There are some quieter places to sit if you wished. We had a lovely couple of days in Torquay and the hotel is conveniently located. If we stayed again...
