「The walls are thin. We were woken up by noise from the next room. We first heard hangers rattling and voices. You shouldn't hear hangers or voices from the next room. I assume the banging we heard was something like suitcases being set on the hard floor. The bed and pillows were the best of the three hotels we stayed in on this trip.」

「An old world hotel surrounded by a lovely pond and wild vegetation. Quiet enough to hear the frogs at night and the birds in the morning. Beds roomy and firm, helpful owner, decent breakfast, close to town and bike paths. Our room had huge windows that opened to the courtyard and pond below. Enjoyed our stay very much.」

Bunk beds were unstable — any movement on the top bunk caused loud creaking. Key cards often malfunctioned. These issues were tolerable compared to what happened next.
