"If you’re planning to visit Melk Abbey, be aware that Hotel Donauhof is not within walking distance—you’ll need to take a taxi, which costs about €16 each way. Alternatively, there's a bus that runs only once per hour. The hotel provides no in-room amenities—not even, tea or bottled water—and there is no air conditioning, which can be uncomfortable in the warmer months after June. There are no activity area around the hotel, with no restaurants nearby except the hotel’s own. During our stay, the elevator was out of order, and we had to carry our suitcases up the stairs. If you're visiting Melk Abbey, I would recommend staying in Melk itself. You'll find similar or lower prices, access to a charming small town, and several dining options within walking distance. "

"One of the most beautiful cabins we've stayed in during our trip to Austria – just a short drive from Vienna. The cabin is fully equipped and feels just like home. The lake and mountains across from it are some of the most stunning we've seen. The water is clean and pleasant to swim in. Unfortunately, I didn’t receive the check-in instructions in time – make sure to confirm them the day before. Other than that, everything was clean, quiet, and highly recommended. Despite its tranquil setting, it’s conveniently accessible with taxis and buses readily available for transportation. The complimentary breakfast was a highlight of my stay. It featured an all-you-can-eat buffet with a wide variety of delicious options, ensuring there was something for everyone. The quality and presentation were truly outstanding. Additionally, the on-site amenities, including the pool and sauna, provided a luxurious and relaxing experience. Dinner was another standout feature. For just 21 euros per person, the all-you-can-eat buffet offered an unbelievable variety of dishes, all expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. "Overall very good. Excellent location. Issue with Checkin which was at a hotel 100 feet or so uphill from this hôtel. Notice of this was done only at entrance to hotel. Breakfast also serves at the other hôtel. Both hotels have same Owner. "
