I decided to take my family (1 adult and 2 children) and my sisters family (2 adults and 2 children) on a long weekend getaway to this Westin property. I've been a Gold member for over 20 years now (first with Starwood and now Marriott), and have stayed at dozens of Westin properties (and even more other family properties) across the globe. In terms of Westin’s, this was the worst Westin experience I've ever had -- here are the reasons why:
- I reserved 2 upgraded beach view rooms for 3 nights and requested that they were adjoining rooms. They were able to give one of the rooms to us early (it was ready), and I again validated with the desk staff they there were adjoining, which she confirmed thinking that our terminology was the same. Around 4pm we received a call our other room was ready, and when I went down to get the key I found out that the room was down the hall and around the corner. I asked the desk agent to get us the requested adjoining rooms and he said “they are adjoining”, and that adjoining only means they are in the same vicinity (although the English definition means that they rooms have an adjoining wall, which our rooms did not even have an adjoining hotel room) – if we wanted rooms with a connecting door I had to request a “connected room”. I then asked to give us our “connected rooms”, and there was no availability and nothing he could do. He did offer to give us rooms in the back of the building that were “connected”, but did not offer us any co
