At first glance, the hotel seemed excellent. I was warmly welcomed at the reception. However, upon arriving at the room that had been assigned to me, I found the door open, there was a strong smell of mold, and a loud noise coming from the air conditioner. We went back down with all our luggage, and the front desk agent was very polite and promptly moved us to a different room.
The following day, we had placed a “Do Not Disturb” sign on our door, yet to our surprise, a staff member entered the room regardless. This was extremely unpleasant.
Later that afternoon, when we headed to the pool closest to the beach—which is also the main path to access the private beach—we noticed that a gay event was taking place in the pool area, with very loud music and an environment that made it nearly impossible to stay there. This didn’t affect just us, but also many families with children who were using the same area. Unfortunately, since this is the only way to access the beach, we were forced to walk through it several times, which left me feeling quite uncomfortable. I can only imagine other families with kids felt the same.
To make matters worse, there were no beach towels available, and we had to wait over 40 minutes for them. We also only found out once we got to the beach that, although beach chairs are included for guests, umbrellas are not—and are charged at $35 per day.
