"I had stayed at this hotel a couple times before with no problem, but this experience was way different. I arrived after a 3hr drive from visiting in North Dakota around 11am. Prior stays we were able to check in at least by noon. This time they would not let me check in til 4pm. I had an event at 3pm that I was attending. They finally said one room may be ready but would cost me another $40.00. I said no and went and wandered around town. I went to my event with no shower and arrived back at the hotel about 6:30 pm. They checked me into my room and when I opened the door the bed sheets were pulled down and the manager met me in the hall and informed that was a dirty room. She sent me downstairs to get a different room. I kind of looked around and thought it was ok, then went and got something to bring back to the room to eat. The table was dirty. I cleaned it and ate. I was sitting on the bed and noticed the carpet was dirty. I checked the bed and it looked ok. In the morning, I was finally going to take a shower. On the back of the stall was a wad of long black hair. Gross. I cleaned it off and stepped into the tub. It was so slippery I didn't dare stand in it. I went and complained about everthing. They said they were very busy and had new cleaners. That's kind of understandable but evidently need to be trained better. Not sure I will stay there again but like I said I had stayed there a couple of other times it was ok. They would need to give me a free night"
"Staff was extremely helpful and kind.
Hotel itself is very dated. Tv remote did not work but staff came right away and helped us get tv working. It meant having 2 remotes, 1 to change channels and 1 to control column.
Pool was not at all what was pictured when we booked the place. We booked due to the pool area having a kiddie pool, water slide and obstacle course in the pool. Upon arrival we found that the pool area had just been remodeled and the kiddie area was completely gone as was the obstacle course. The hot tub had been filled in completely except a few inches from the top and filled with water to make a very small, shallow kiddie pool. It was very disappointing. Yes, the new water slide was nice, but only 1 of the 3 kids we were traveling with could use it, the others were left to a tiny round wading pool with no toys or form of entertainment. Had we known the pool was changed we would have stayed at a better, more modern hotel with just a pool.
Breakfast was available, but only choice was to pay $16 per adult and $8 per child for a buffet style breakfast. Too pricey for kids and adults that eat very light.
If you miss the 70’s and are looking for a hotel with friendly and helpful staff, then this is the place for you."
"We were very pleased with the staff when I called to inquire the extra fee that showed on my bank statement but she was so kind to explain that banks on occasion add but refund and that was the case within the day. The breakfasts were fabulous. I hope they get keying machine fixed. It was up to them to open the door. Also the pool was great and warm. The hot tub was great. Though disappointed to hear they charge for my grandchildren to come as guests and swim there was a $10 each fee. It was not posted or noted on the HOTELS.com site. They were disappointed we would not pay that."
