「Staff were helpful on arrival.room/suite was very big. Bigger than my first flat! Whilst it had charm it was clearly an old building and it needs a little tlc but that said, it was clean and excellent value. I would stay again.」

「Expectations exceeded reality. Initially the astetics of arriving at the pub/hotel looked promising and the ambiance of the bar area pleasent with polite reception staff.The room (4) was at first site ok, but a more detailed look revealed a more dirty aspect and not as expected. The windows slatted blind very dusty, corner of the bathroom by the door, grime. 「It was an old characterful building with many original features. It was evident from the certificates and photos around the place that it had been a hotel & restaurant of note with award winning credentials. It isn’t a shiny glitzy hotel but equally the decor was quite tired and patched up in places. 「Great place to stay if you’re off to the races, 15mins by car or Taxi.
The pub does not provide a breakfast but their evening meals are good, and the staff are friendly.
The rooms are at the back of the pub and have ensuite bathrooms, tea, coffee and water bottles in the mini fridge. The linen and towels were all fresh and the bed very comfortable. 」
