Excellent location - short walk to main shopping/restaurant area and river walk. Convenient access to room. Room was clean and comfy. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Liked the pool, and other amenities. Liked the staff, who were always helpful.
Didn’t like street noise and loud voices outside our door in the early morning.
Not fancy but updated and clean. We liked being able to walk to downtown Estes Park for morning coffee and dinners. Comfortable beds and quiet at night. Convenient parking included. One negative was that the restaurant and bar was closed the 3 days of the week that we were there.
I've been to Estes many times, my first time here. I booked last minute and got lucky on such a Great place. Nice pool. Great location. Friendly staff. Clean room. Great for families. And food was surprisingly great. I wouldn't have expected food this good at a place like this, so glad I tried a new place. A great vibe start to finish and staff that really makes you feel welcome.
The lodge was very nice. The dinning and bar area was a plus, along with the outdoor area. Staff was all very nice and helpful. Only downside was the bathroom.

Disliked: Cleanliness
Pros- The location is great for walking into town and the lobby is modern and appealing. Very cool watching elk pass by from the patio.
Cons - The room smelt like an airplane bathroom and was not very clean. Has some modern updates but overall has a very old feel. Literally had someone walk into our room this morning while we were in there - would like to assume it was someone from the hotel staff with a key, but either way it made us very uncomfortable.
Beautiful setting, friendly staff, great atmosphere! Highly recommend!

The location was good. The room was ok. The tub/ shower had a solid ring of grime around it. The walls are paper thin - I could hear a baby in one of the rooms next to us crying ALL night. We would not stay here again.
The location to downtown, shuttles to Rocky Mountain National Park, Stanley Hotel. Didn’t use car for the five days that we were there. General area with restaurant and bar was nice.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The room smelled funny and the A/C did not work. Restaurant staff were awesome
We enjoyed the stay and property. Bar and food on site. S’mores free between 6-9. Definitely would stay there again the town is walkable but we drove closer because we are just lazy.
The view from the property was very nice. Right across from the Stanley hotel. Out a/c unit was leaking and my sons headphone were on the dresser under the unit and got ruined, there was bird poop and pigeons outside out door and all over the staircase leading up to our room, and the bathtub and shower curtain liner were filthy. Mold and hard water stains on the liner. Can’t say we’d come back and stay with those variables. The did let us check in early and seemed to have s’mores between certain hours and bikes to ride free of charge while there. Just wasn’t our cup of tea. Thankfully it was only for one night. The staff was very friendly though.
If you are looking for a decent, no-frills place to stay, I recommend Trailhead Lodge. The location is convenient. The check-in and out were easy for us.
They offer smores at the fire pit every evening. A nice way to unwind a chat with other guests.
The room - The bare necessities. This is the first place I've stayed that didn't have an ironing board/iron in the room. They do provide toiletries. (shampoo, conditioner & body wash) The walk in shower was a pain. Every shower produced water all over the bathroom floor. When we couldn't get the air unit to work I went to the front desk. The attendant explained that they are all shut down this time of year (mid-September) because it's "too hot during the day and too cold at night". He did give us a box fan from the bar area though.
Overall it is decent. Just don't expect anything above basic accommodations.
We booked a last minute weekend for the Fourth of July. Prices were a little steep but expected last minute.
Great location but even better staff here! Everyone was so friendly, thoughtful and accommodating. Truly top notch team.
Location is in walking distance of the lake, shops and restaurants on the creek and The Stanley. A/c in the room was good, beds comfy, we hung out in the lounge/lobby and at the fire pit. Our teens loved the hammocks and s’mores. We would definitely stay again.
We stayed 4 nights for a family vacation and it was lovely! It is the perfect location if you're visiting Estes Park or Rocky Mountain National Park! We were able to walk downtown Estes Park and not have to worry about parking - which was great! The hotel is older, but they've done a great job of updating! The staff was very helpful -- I had originally booked online and our travel plans changed and the staff was wonderful about helping me change our booking (even though I had booked it through Expedia). Once we got there, the staff was so friendly and helpful with every question we had! Smores at night over the fire were wonderful and the outdoor seating was perfect! I said multiple times throughout our stay "I've never been to a hotel with such friendly and helpful staff!"
Room amenities were lacking. For the age of the building and the price, it was decent. We did have one amenity, and that was s’mores in the evening, and there were elk around with their babies. That was the best part of it. Parking was good. I would give it a 3.5 stars.
I just wish they would have had a microwave in the room so we could heat up our food. It was crazy hot in the daytime so I would have liked for them to have an ice machine and for the pool to be opened. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and beds were comfortable.
We were disappointed that there was no breakfast available, no food service available, and no bar service available the whole time we were there. The fire ring was broken in back so only one worked in front. The complimentary smores were very nice. Really cute lobby and nice place to relax. Nice location.
