This place has really gone down hill. No one works the desk at check in. You have to speak to someone in India through a kiosk located in the office. I couldn’t understand anything he was saying. Finally got the key to come out of the kiosk but of course it didn’t work. Let’s just say check in was a disaster. Microwave broken. No coffee in the room. In wall heater would not stay on. Shower curtain to short and not long enough. Bathroom all wet after shower. Only one ceiling light in the room and the bed stand lights did not work. The window curtain does not close all of the way because the AC heater is partially in the window. No tissue paper. The Indians that own this hotel are so cheap they won’t pay for tissue, coffee or heaters that stay on and don’t automatically shut down. But being so cheap you won’t hire someone to work at the desk is just too much. The Person on the Kiosk in India that they pay a dollar a day could not fix any of problems. Do yourself a favor and skip the Motel 6 in Ely.

This is one of the sketchiest experiences ive ever had. I went to check in but there was no one there except a big screen. Then an Indian pops up to check me in that barely spoke English and Im certain he was located in India. He proceeds to tell me scan my ID so i do then he tells me to scan the other side, then i have to scan my credit card. So now all my personal information and CC info, is all located on some computer in India. I felt like i was being scammed for sure. Then you consider everyone has to do that. They probably have all the personal information linked to a CC on thousands and thousands of people sitting on a computer in India. How does that make you feel? The hotel itself was under construction so not the best but the room was descent. Because of the check in situation im not sure id ever want to stay there again. What if the hotel was bought by an Indian then a couple years later he declares bankruptcy or sales the place. They now have the personal info of thousands of people.

I have never checked into a hotel with a guy in a box before. That was an experience I hope to never have again. We have stayed at this place once before and it was fine. We were probably one of maybe four rooms occupied. I asked for a room on the ground floor and was told since I booked through Expedia I didn’t pay enough to have a room on the ground floor. I should have booked directly through them to get that privilege. When we got to the room it was ok until we went into the bathroom. The toilet was clean thankfully. The shower curtain had what appeared to be nose burgers wiped on it. Yuck. The shower had pink and orange mold all around it. Yuck again. Needless to say we didn’t use it. There was a hole in the wall where there should have been an exhaust fan. We will not be staying here again.

The room was clean and the virtual staff courteous, but it was very off putting to walk in and not actually see a person, plus it was very hard to hear and understand the virtual worker and the transaction took quite a long time because of this.

Could not get any extra pillows, shampoo or help with television issues. Night person was so rude and not helpful at all. I went to the office four times. He was horrible! His boss must have stepped in because he did let us change rooms where the TV worked. It must have been closer to get any service or reception.

It seems like room 288 was converted from a single bed to two doubles. This puts the HVAC machine hanging over the bed that is against the outside wall. The unit is very noisy as well. Less than ideal to say the least.
