"There was no hot water for a shower. Speaking to reception, she asked if I had left the tap running for 10 minutes facing right and 10 minutes facing left. I said I didn't know I had to do that ritual every time I showered. There was only an apology, but I said that the water really does take a while to heat up."

"We enjoyed our stay at the Villa, with a few caveats. First of all, I must say how exceptional the staff is. Extremely kind and helpful. The property itself is very well set up and well maintained. It is quite compact, with lots to do in a rather small space. The only thing we were disappointed about was the lack of dining options. There is no food at all at the property, not even breakfast or vending machines. The area around the hotel is not very walkable at all (no sidewalks, fast traffic) and there's only one restaurant within walking distance. You'd think that's ok for a couple of days, but after finding 4 dead flies in the food there (always left open with lots of bugs flying around), we could not go back. So the only option left would have been to order food, but we could not sign up to the local food delivery apps, since they required a working brazilian phone number, which we didn't have. And there's no Uber Eats in Brazil. All in all, the place itself is good, but you have to come with a car or with iFood pre-installed on your phone, and either way, you won't be able to eat only delivered food for too many days in a row. It's a shame they don't provide at least breakfast!"
