"We booked a 2-night stay due to the high rating (8.8/10) and proximity to Yosemite. The night we checked in, the room smelled old and musty but we thought this was because the air conditioning wasn’t working. Told the front desk about the A/C, and they said they’d try to send someone, but no one came. Also, found hairs in the bathroom, and not-sure-what caked on the chair, adding to the feeling the room was not clean. Before we left for the park the next morning, told the front desk again about the AC. When we returned, it had been fixed, but the room only smelled worse. Additionally, when we checked in, we were asked if we wanted housekeeping, we said yes, but all they did was replace the towels (ddin’t make the bed, empty the trash, or clean/straighten-up at all). Breakfast was subpar, even for a free hotel buffet. The location is good for Yosemite and the town is cute but would not recommend this hotel. We found somewhere else to stay the second night."

"First of all, there was no restaurant as stated. It was closed during our stay. A local told us that it’s hit or miss on being open and the owner has been trying to sell it. So we had to drive to eat. Expect a minimum 30-40 minutes wait time, maybe longer, at the few restaurants in town if you’re traveling in the summer. The rooms are old for the price, but clean and the bed was comfortable. Very thin towels and wash rags. Not much on the tv at night unless you want to log into an app, which we didn’t do for security reasons. One outlet was loose from the wall and the plugs were all bent. There was light coming in around the door and the chain lock was half off its screws, but fortunately the hallway was quiet. All that being said, we spent most of our time outside of the room. We felt safe in the area. It’s not far from the one-block historic strip and a coffee shop across the street. The motel is an hour away from the Yosemite west entrance. There’s a breakfast with waffles, English muffins and other breads. They had sausages in a chafing dish, but no eggs other than hard boiled eggs. Weird. Staff was a little slow in keeping things restocked and full. We wouldn’t stay there again because of the restaurant issue."

"We stayed here for one night before our river rafting day and then onto Yosemite. Staff was helpful. Room was clean and nice - although the bed was a bit too squishy for me. Excellent location. Free breakfast is somewhat limited, but free nonetheless so I can't complain too much. I would stay here again."
