What a beautiful hotel! Extremely well maintained. Many wonderful places to relax, and staff were exceptionally pleasant and helpful. Location was perfect-close walk to many attractions, but far enough away to be quiet. So happy we chose this hotel.

Hotel was very nice and close to attractions. Walking distance to many restaurants. The room names and how to get there were a bit confusing at first. Beds were very comfortable and bath and showers were amazing! Breakfast was great. Creepy history of the buildings past though. 😬

Spacious room with good storage and excellent showers. Great location, near the National Museum, Grassmarket, Meadows, Edinburgh University. Friendly service. Two gripes: 1/ Breakfast was good though we had long delays to get coffee as there is only one machine, which needed refills of beans/milk as well as filter cleaning. They really need to provide filter coffee machines. 2/ Our room (+ most of the others?) required us to haul luggage up and down stairs as they were not directly served by a lift. Unavoidable with the nature of a converted building but was a nuisance.
