"Maids were very kind and helpful, alongside the mini bar refillers. Really recommend the suite over the normal rooms, was very spacious and luxurious. Pools were clean, plenty of activities to go around. Would absolutely recommend for anyone! 10/10 experience!! We riu loved it "

"We had a very enjoyable stay at Excellence El Carmen and would rate it 4 out of 5 stars. The resort has a great atmosphere and feels very private and relaxing. We stayed in a Junior Suite with a private pool. The room was spacious and comfortable, though housekeeping could improve attention to detail. Some surfaces were dusty and the floor could have been cleaned more thoroughly. Service was mostly excellent. The waitstaff were consistently friendly and attentive. The hotel management also stood out — they followed up after room service deliveries and were very caring when my wife wasn’t feeling well one day. The only exception was the staff assigning tables at some restaurants, who sometimes seemed uninterested. Food quality was generally good, though not outstanding by European standards. Our favorite restaurant was The Flavor Market (Spanish cuisine). The Lobster House was the only real disappointment — especially for seafood lovers from Maryland. The beach is excellent and the dedicated Excellence Club area is a great feature. However, the hotel should ensure there are enough well-maintained beach loungers available so guests don’t feel the need to reserve them early in the morning. Overall, a fantastic resort experience with a beautiful beach and friendly staff. We would definitely consider coming back."

"A/C did not work when checking in. Had 3 or 4 trips to fix it in a week. The last two nights every 20 minutes had to manually turn it on when room got too hot and off when it got too cold. Not great for a night's sleep. The floor of the ground floor room was an ant farm. Rooms were noisy - clomping elephant in the room above. "Train" required to get around huge area. Sometimes long waits with a full train showing up so wait for next. Sometimes two came at the same time, the front one full, the back one empty. The Salsa Dance outside the lobby in the evenings was far too loud, you could hear it down at the beach. Impossible to have any kind of conversation in the area. The big issue was the A/C, either not working, never shutting off the cooling making the room freezing cold (and not being able to turn it off), or manually cycling it on and off. All different after each service visit. I won' be returning. Ever. Going back to the Majestic resorts."

"The resort area and rooms were very clean. The beach was also quite nice with about a 200 yard sand bar where you could wade out into the water. "

"The common areas are beautiful and clean. The staff were cordial, respectful and helpful. However, the room conditions were poor. They need to upgrade the blue section-junior room- as they are really bad.. I cannot say anything about others room, In general, I had a great time"
