The staff, in all areas, was great - very friendly, helpful and respectful. The rooms were lovely although the AC was a little of a challenge at first. The gym had everything I needed and quite a bit more. It was too cold for me to try the pool but sitting by it was very relaxing. I really enjoyed my stay.

The receptionist who checked us in was called and not hospitable. We have been too many hotels in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and everyone has been so friendly however Lin didn’t seem to care that much about being kind or friendly. She was just there to do her job and it was very apparent. On top of that there was flying bugs coming out of the bathroom. It the shower room smelt mouldy. The breakfast buffet was filled with a lot of condiments but nothing substantial was offered like the other buffets we have been to at actually at 4 star hotels. Needless to say wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone else and wouldn’t book again

The room was huge and clean. The hotel is near the airport and it runs a free hourly shuttle there and back. There is a glass bottom rooftop pool that is pretty neat. My room had a kettle and a small fridge but there was no microwave in the room or anywhere in the hotel for guest use, so yummy leftovers from Indian place down the road had to be eaten cold. On my first night I arrived late so i picked up a cup of noodles to eat in room but trying to borrow a spoon from the restaurant turned out to not be possible. I could have had one brought up from room service if I wanted to pay the minimum $10 fee.

Enjoyed our stay. Good location close to metro and airport. Lovely heated rooftop pool. Was the highlight of our stay with the kids who loved the pool. Good service and nice rooms. Breakfast is good overall but a little slow replacing cups and food when needed. Would recommend.

„Das Hotelzimmer selbst war sehr gut, sauber und gut eingerichtet. Allerdings war der Empfang an der Rezeption enttäuschend. Es war dem Personal von Anfang an bewusst, dass das Zimmer für vier Personen zu klein ist. Trotzdem wurde keine Lösung angeboten. Stattdessen wurde uns lediglich ein anderes Zimmer gegen Aufpreis vorgeschlagen. Der Eindruck entstand, dass es vor allem darum ging, mehr Geld zu verlangen, anstatt eine zufriedenstellende Lösung für uns zu finden.“

I stayed at the Grand Mercure Dubai City for just 24 hours, so this is based on a quick visit. Overall, the hotel has a lot of great things going for it: • The room was extremely clean, spacious, and the bed was really comfortable. • The bathroom was excellent – plenty of hot water and strong shower pressure. • It was very quiet; I had no noise issues until the incident I mention below. • The breakfast was fantastic – huge variety, everything fresh and tasty. One small downside: when I first entered the room, there was a faint cigarette smell that bothered me a bit. But the main complaint: Around 3:30 AM, a very loud fire alarm went off and woke up the entire building. It was scary – I even wondered if it had something to do with an emergency or conflict in the area. When I asked at reception in the morning, they said it was a false alarm. It took a long time to stop, and after that, it was really hard to get back to sleep. Apart from that alarming wake-up call, everything else was very good for a short stay. I’d consider coming back, but I’d hope they fix whatever caused the false alarm!

First the shuttle bus did not come. The room is not clean, there are ants on the bath towels and floor. The shower water is not hot. We have ordered a room with sofa bed and when we asked for pillows and blanket for the sofa bed side, they said they have no extra set to provide. Very disappointed experience.

L’hôtel est assez bien situé. Proche de l’aéroport de Dubaï et bien insonorisé. Personnels sympa. Service de voituriers gratuit. Notre vol a eu du retard et après 20h de voyage on vous répond que les chambres ne sont disponibles qu’à partir de 14h 😱 c’est juste horrible. Sinon le buffet du petit déjeuner est bon et copieux. Pour les autres repas nous avons choisi l’extérieur plus variés et moins cher. Fermeture des piscines un peu tôt. Celle du 1er à 20h et celle du toit à 22h

Mix feelings but I like this place. First, the complementary shuttle services from and to the airport was goooooood. Even provided complementary services to the city mall and other places. Good on you, guys. Concierge service was equally magnificent. Although the room was a little small in size, it looked was great and spotless. Room furniture are strategically place to make room to move around. Staff very friendly and respectful. The warm gesture provided were remarkable. Amenities such gym, spa, pool were available but we never used them. The rooftop is magical just when the sun is setting down. The only down side for us was the food. Although, I was convenient to eat at the hotel, the meals were very one-way kind of buffet menu. Not much variety and chef were not quick with their refills. There were significant delays. Meat was a rare thing to have. Don't believe we ever eate beef. Lamp in stew/soup were rare to find. It was always chicken and somehow it finishes that quick. Then, the tray becomes empty for loooooong. In fact, for what Mercure is, I was expecting some good variety with foods, particularly the main meals. My experiences with the food (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) was not the best. I believe I would have enjoyed it better if I have stepped out for breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Aside this, I believe the hotel is a good place to stay.
