Stay was good. We were a bit taken back by the fact that the stay is a room and bath at an individual’s home. Owner was very friendly and her cats were too! Very pretty neighborhood.
The owners were incredibly nice, they made us feel welcome into their home and made sure we knew where everything was. The cats especially were absolutely adorable, so if you like good company in people and cats this is a great stay. We didnt get to stay the full time due to family emergency but they were incredibly kind and understanding. The room was spacious and the home beautifully decorated, definitely a good place to stay if you want a "staying at a friend's/family's place" vibe

The room was very nice, and the people were fantastic, had my own bath room, and I had an excellent stay.
The Hampton hous is extremely comfortable and cozy the owner has done a excellent job most hotels could learn from her. Highly recommend you stay BRAVO HAMPTON HOUSE
The host was kind and conversational. I was there for a funeral so they left me to my grief for which I was greatly appreciative. My only critique is the home has 6 cats and I am severly alergic to cats. They had available benedryl and claritin. I wish the cat situation was on the website.

Advertising borderline deception; a private room in a house. House has a large welcoming sign with picture of a lot of cats. No one present to open door at checkin time. Contacted owner by phone and told her my wife is very allergic to cats and has seizures. No prior message about cats in home. Requested a refund was repeatedly denied. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
I've stayed at Laura's property a few times now, and every time, I feel more like a family member than like a guest. I am going through some extreme hardships, and Laura spent time with me and we talked about things. It really made me feel better about everything bad that's going on. Even if she hadn't spend time in conversation with me, the single room that I've stayed in is *impeccable* and the bed is so cozy. I'll admit, I'm *moderately* famous, and I have a few stalkers, so I feel safer at her house than at my own, sometimes.
Thank you, Laura, for being a beacon of kindness when I really needed one.
Hot tip: The upstairs bathtub is LIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NOT A HOTEL - BEDROOM IN A PRIVATE HOME
This is not a hotel. This is a small bedroom in a private home. I often stay in short term residential rentals, so I don’t typically have an issue with that, but that wasn’t what I was looking for on this occasion.
It was never made clear in the listing that this was a home, and the photos provided are misrepresentative of the space.
Also, there are multiple cats in the residence so if you are bothered by cat dander be aware. While not overpowering, there is also a noticeable “cat smell” in the home.
The owner was pleasant enough and generally helpful, still I felt deceived. Coming off of several very long arduous days on a work project, my schedule was suddenly extended by a day. This was not the experience I was looking for.
The title tells it all. While on Hampton Road and called Hampton House, this is a bedroom in a private home.
Managing expectations is something I have been able to draw from Hotels.com but this entry showed us pictures of rooms we could only walk through and in a condition which was not reality.
Our bedroom space was clean, decorated well, comfortable for sleeping and included access to an electronic light control. It seemed to us to be a more apt Airbnb entry than one for Hotels.com.
Any issues we had came from being totally surprised to pull into a neighborhood and find our stay would be at a private home. Since this was not a hotel per se there was no lobby so there was no place to obtain drinks (other than water) or snacks. We needed to adjust our off-site plans when we realized what limitations we would have. Also, there are five cats living there and even though not "allowed" in guest rooms, their dander did bother my allergies until I left the space.
Laura is a lovely woman and made us feel welcome but I have long had over met expectations from Hotels.com and have never been confused by any stay until this one.
Just thought you should know.

I needed the Peace and Serenity I found it there very beautiful home you could feel the love when you drove up a sense of safety that you have made it home
My room was very clean and comfortable. It was just perfect for what I needed I loved the Tempur-Pedic bed; I got a really good night’s sleep. The bathroom was very pretty and clean. I loved that I was able to relax in the bathtub and the towels were super soft and thick. The home was very quiet and peaceful. The host was really nice and friendly, she went out of her way to be accommodating. I will definitely stay again; it is nicer than the nicest hotel room

Worst hotel/B&B ever encountered in 45 years
In over 45 years of traveling domestically and internationally staying at dozens of B&Bs, one-star hotels, not to mention everything on up to Ritz-Carlton and Fairmont, we have never encountered a accommodation like this.
Cat hair was ubiquitous, scrap food was in the kitchen sink, a dirty washcloth was hanging in the bathroom, and the downstairs toilet was unflushed with evidence of a bowel movement.
Additionally, the front steps are broken and the railing is coming off offering no support whatsoever.
Finally, when my wife and I were in the room depicted to the left with the fireplace, we received a text message from the proprietor objecting to our conversation. It was evident that Laura had set up a surveillance system to monitor our movements and conversation without our knowledge or permission.
We had booked the Deluxe Room for three nights (there are only two rooms and the "house" only accommodates three people) but left after one night and did not even pull back the sheets of the queen bed because we realized that they could be as filthy as the rest of the house.
