"This was a safe location for foreigners. The compound is surrounded by a wall and guarded gate. The facilities were very nice, clean and comfortable. The restaurant was very good. Their portions are big or you can go a buffet. "

"The lake view is nice. The water is very high right now and so there is no beachfront (which is reportedly the case at most properties). Unfortunately, my room had no hot water (though they tried to turn it on??) and the wifi might as well be nonexistent. The Indian menu options at the restaurant are very tasty, however. Expectations should be kept in check."

"The Sunbird waterfront is a very nice modern property with very well appointed rooms. The restaurant is good – breakfast is very good. Staff are friendly and polite. I was disappointed by the lack of a tourist activity program, and very ad hoc approach to this. Some of the prices I was quoted for boat, rides, or other accompanied activities were ridiculous. "Hotel is beautiful. However, one of the rooms I stayed in did not have a mosquito net on the bed and some of the windows did not have screens."

"It’s near everything you need for a one or two night stay. It is an older place and could use some updating. Poor WiFi and poor air conditioner. I asked to be moved from the first room and the second wasn’t much better. What keeps me coming back is the location, the staff and the food. Especially the breakfast which is worth every penny. See you again soon. "
