Vila Alba Resort

"This was our 5th stay at the resort, a fantastic location and the breakfasts are still superb. However the resort is becoming a bit tired, we stayed in the same room as last year and the broken drawers from last year hadn’t been fixed (we reported this last year). The staff at the restaurant have also gone downhill, mainly down to a lack of sufficient training. One in particular was rude to us on a couple of occasions which was a shock. We have enjoyed this resort over the years but our last experience means we may start looking elsewhere when returning to the area in the future."

"The hotel was good but it’s hard to get around because the distance at least from our room to the beach/pool etc is quite long. Also, there’s a few restaurants but hard to get a reservation. The first night we got in we attempted to make reservations and some of them were not even available during our stay, and the first available time to eat our first night in was at 9:30pm. The beach service is almost non existent. You can be sitting for hours and no one comes to ask you if you would like to order something. The rooms are also a bit dated. Over all I would say that it is a nice stay but we were not blown away with the facility for the price we paid."

"Really classy and calm, a resort for people who dont want the hustle and bustle of all inclusives. Excellent food, healthy and plenty of choice for vegetarians too. Love the proximity to the beach. We stayed in a 3 bedroom suite and the living area and kitchen were so useful. Highly recommend, we will definitely come back. Our group consisted of my parents in their 70's and my teenage children."

"The accommodations were great and exactly what I was looking for during my family’s vacation. A little town that wasn’t a tourist trap and had all the accommodations we needed. There were multiple cafes close by and we were only 15 minutes to a beach. The pool was refreshing and needed as we visited during an early heat wave. We ended up extending our stay for 3 extra days with no problem. Local restaurants were also amazing. My only complaint was parking was a pain. We will definitely be going back!"

"I stayed there for 8 days. The food was disappointing because there was no sense of Portugal. What helped was different Themes every night, so could try some food of different countries. Due to additional restaurants or rooftop bar, before booking it is highly recommended to check the terms, I found out on arrival that I have only 1 Asian restaurant included that I can have a dinner once during my stay and no rooftop bar because my package is "only all inclusive". I tried this Asian restaurant one night and the food was really bad, I do not understand how they can call it an Asian restaurant. The snacks bar overall burger, hotdog, sandwich. The hotel entertainment, it was hard to understand what is going on, when and where. Some activities were not well organized and lacking of music during the day by the pools and entertainment in the evenings. The gym in the main block had no air conditioning working, it was +26C or over inside. The disco was a bit of joke, someone was just playing songs on the phone for an hour. The reception did not explain about the hotel and where to find everything and how everything works. There is QR code to scan about the hotel that is useless and info is blur. For 4 start hotel, there was no hair shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom, only a shower gel. The staff was nice apart from check in/out reception. Wifi does not work in the hotel, including tv in the room that was lagging."
