「Fantastic location overlooking the hilltop sea views. Last minute overnight booking, with only the rear looking room available (would like to try the sea view rooms next time). Room was immaculately clean with a fan, iron (and board), hairdryer, microwave, toaster, fridge and kettle (also tea, coffee and milk, that you can have refilled if you need more). Staff were absolutely fantastic from the time we checked in to when we left. Bar and food area downstairs (also plenty of outdoor seating). I...

「No dislikes with anything at the Dukes and always love staying there. Bed superbly comfortable. One little niggle not quite ready for winter duvets but forgot to ask for something lighter」

「Great stay in a centrally located hotel/pub - staff were excellent and food first-class. Room and the facilities were very good The village was very pleasant too! I would absolutely stay here again.」

「Beautiful location. Ideally situated for the South West Coastal Path. Lovely pub atmosphere with a good restaurant. Local beer. Staff were helpful on site. Parking. Room was cosy but had everything that you needed. Lovely shower.」

「We were only there one night and didn’t eat there in the evening but breakfast was excellent. Room was spacious with excellent open plan bathroom facilities. Pleasant walk into Sidmouth ( approx 3.5 ) miles round trip Ticked all the boxes for what we needed. Would stay again」

「It was stepping in to beautiful history with the friendliest most accommodating staff around. Truly special and delicious food.」

「It's a very friendly hotel. The room was clean & cozy. The restaurant also very good and I didn't need to find a place to eat. Excellent for a night or two and explore the nearby area.」

「A good location for us with plenty of parking. Room was clean, but ours had a very tired bed mattress which really needed replacing. The staff were all very friendly and helpful during our stay and food and drinks were all reasonably priced.」

「Our room was well maintained and we like staying in unique, historic properties. A bath in the nook in front of the window seemed a little strange. We thought a sofa with a coffee table would be a more relaxing option after a day of sightseeing. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The state of the beer garden is a shame. It looked really run down albeit unique with a throne at one of the tables. If you struggle with mobility, the car park is between 5 - 10 mins walk away. Not a...

「Lots of parking at the rear of the pub. Food was amazing & choice of drinks. Our room was lovely. Good size, bed was amazing and en-suite with bath. The inn had a lot of character. Very quiet village so we spent the evening in the pub with other couples staying at the Inn.」
