MGH Mitsui Garden Hotel Taipei Zhongxiao

"Location is fantastic, you have a MRT station exit at the hotel doorstep which is very convenient, and it’s on the quieter end of a main street through Taipei so you don’t get so much crowds. The hotel is very well maintained. Our rooms were basic but clean and comfortable. The lounge was small but a great convenience; you can get water and Nespresso (there are also 7-Eleven vending machines on the lounge level). The temperature control on the shower didn’t work properly; had sudden bursts of hot water when bathing our toddler but luckily we stopped it in time to avoid a bad burn. There isn’t a desk in the room which may be a hindrance for business travelers or those who need to get work done in the hotel but I was there on holiday. You sacrifice a pool for Japanese-style public baths, which I think is a unique selling point but not for everyone - something to keep in mind if traveling with family who like swimming. There is no drop off for the hotel if you are using ride hailing or getting a private car, and the front of the hotel is occupied by a public bus stop but the staff is very helpful to get you into the car."

"This is a great hotel just steps away from one of the entrances to Daan Metro station on the red and brown lines. The room was really nice and very comfortable. There is no bar/lounge in the hotel, but there is a very decent restaurant on the main floor. My 3-star rating for the staff is due to one issue I experienced prior to arriving. They were very helpful in offering a shuttle from the airport. I missed a message where they asked how big my carry-on luggage was, and whether it was a suitcase or rucksack (it's carry-on folks, it can't be too big) . Anyway, I replied the day before we were arriving but was told I was required to reply a week before that! Like, really? That left a sour taste in my mouth. They were more than willing to arrange a shuttle back to the airport when we checked out with a day's notice! Regardless of this peculiar-ness, don't take their shuttle anyway - their "special rate" is more expensive than an Uber!"

There were many useful amenities on site including but not limited to luggage scale, complimentary luggage storage, pay-per-use washer/dryers, microwave, water refill station, complimentary travel accessories: toothbrushes, mosquito patches, maps, clothes stain remover wipes, alcohol wipes, etc."

"Stayed at the Hotel Cozzi Zhongxiao for 8 nights. The hotel is conveniently located near the blue MRT line that is right across the street. Hotel staff, from the front desk to lounge to house keeping. are very polite and helpful. They always greet guests with a smile and a nod and are quick to respond to our requests. The lounge staff are always hard at work during busy breakfast period to ensure the guests are having a pleasant eating environment. The breakfast has a wide variety of selections. The egg station staff, especially the girl and the older gentleman, cook the eggs to perfection! We had an early flight and the front desk staff thoughtfully asked if we needed to-go breakfast bags. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Cozzy Zhongxiao!"

"We believe poked this hotel because of the advertised airport shuttle- BUT there is no airport shuttle! There is a shuttle running the MRT station that is a 6 minute walk from the hotel. While the hotel is nice, it is not near anything that tourists would usually see."
