"We loved the location. We love San Clemente and all it has to offer. The support person on the phone was very helpful. It’s a great unit. We were very comfortable there. We would return in the future. There are a few things that need to be looked at a little closer. The toilet kept clogging up. Especially when there were more people in the building upstairs. "The hotel itself was nice and the food and staff were amazing as well. The only thing was the freeway noise and the room doors are way to close to one another as they slam very loud. Unfortunately my neighbor slammed his door frequently until midnight——just my luck! Will I stay there again “YES” with a few changes"

"We were very disappointed that ongoing construction on the property significantly impacted our experience. The hotel property also did not look like the photos advertised online due to the construction. We have stayed at this property before, and this visit was nothing like our previous experience due to the construction. Customers should be informed about any major construction at the time of booking, especially when they are paying full price for the room and the resort fee. We also booked a resort-view balcony room, but there were fences outside our balcony. I can provide photos if needed."

"Great stay. Beautiful location, overlooking the Dana Point Harbor. Lovely outdoor patio that you can enjoy the sunshine from. Their wine and cheese hour was awesome, with different wines to choose from and delicious snacks. My flight from the East Coast arrived early and they were so kind to accommodate a morning check in for me. Staff was very nice! I was able to walk to restaurants and eateries in the area, which was amazing since I didnt have a car with me. Would recommend! "

"I booked this room because it had the highest customer satisfaction for the price. As I was going to bed I found what I will identify as a bedbug on the sheet. They could not change our room and after tearing the sheets apart I didn't see any other bugs so we stayed. I expected some concern/response from the hotel manager but no one contacted me about the bug on the sheet. They were totally disconnected from any problem. When I called them to discuss my bill they told me they don't have anything to do with compensation since Hotels.com booked the reservation. Really? The next time anything like this happens I will leave the hotel immediately, obviously. I expected more from a Best Western. And don't think Hotel.com gets any points here, either. They weren't any help. Hotels.com "negotiated" a minimal amount to a virtual card without acknowledging any issue. I told them to keep it. Google says I should have been refunded everything. All I wanted was an apology acknowledging their responsibility and something for this sour note on our vacation."
