Reunification Buddha at Doughwasa Temple Donghwasa Temple is on the southern side of Mt. Palgongsan, South Korea. On its grounds is a 17 meter high statue of a Buddha of Medicine (Yaksayore-bil). Medical Buddhas are often depicted wearing a hat. It was completed in 1992 in hopes of reunification of the Korean Peninsula. Donghwasa Temple is one of the temples involved in the Temple Stay Program. This is a program which allows lay people to stay a night or two and experience Buddhist practices.
