"Here’s a cleaner, balanced version that keeps your point without sounding like a rant: The staff here have been great. I’ve stayed a total of 8 weeks across 3 separate reservations, so I feel like I’ve gotten a pretty good sense of the property. Is it a 5-star hotel? No. But it’s about what you’d expect for the price point. Many residents appear to be long-term guests, and you’ll see things like kids catching the school bus from the parking lot. My biggest frustration is that during my entire stay, the room has never been cleaned. Guests are expected to wash their own towels and bedding, which would be less of an issue if the laundry facilities were fully functional. Unfortunately, more than half of the dryers have been out of service since I arrived in April, and with only four washers available, laundry can become a challenge—especially when machines sit occupied with unattended loads. The most significant issue, however, is the persistent marijuana odor throughout the building. It can be smelled regularly during the day and night. There are no-smoking signs posted throughout the property, but that policy doesn’t seem to be consistently enforced. Overall, the people are friendly and the price is reasonable, but there are definitely opportunities to improve the guest experience."

"We were driving in a torrential rainstorm in Talladega Alabama on June 7th and I called the 800 number to Windham hotels for directional help once we got off the exit. Jolene took us 22 miles in the wrong direction! I called three times and she just told me to “keep going sweetie” I finally was able to get an internet signal on my phone to put the address in GPS and she had sent us 22 miles in the wrong direction! After the third phone call she became rude! I was stressed and tired and certainly didn’t need this kind of attitude! I’ll certainly find another hotel chain next time I travel! When I called the customer care line to explain what had happened they too really weren’t interested in anything I had to say! Bad business practices! Never again!"

"Everything about this hotel was great. Beautifully manicured property and even a lower deck area right on the river edge. Very clean, staff was very, very friendly and helpful and pool was nice. Everything was well maintained. Definitely will stay here again. Continental breakfast is just cereal, bagel, roll, fruit but considering the cost of the room, it was fine with us. Highly recommend."
