"Julia’s Cabanas are a bit rustic but clean. It is located directly on the beach and is in close proximity to everything in Placencia Village. The staff was super friendly and made sure that I was enjoying my stay. There was a bar next door that often played music in the evenings. I loved this but if you don’t like music, go to bed early or are looking for quiet, this might not be the place for you. I really enjoyed the hammock on my beachfront cabana. The view was beautiful and there is always a nice breeze. I had a great time staying here and will definitely stay at Julia’s again. "

"Loved our stay. Best pool In Placencia which helped as our stay was when sargassum was in the water. Great continental breakfast and restaurant was great for lunch and dinner too. Service was great too. Loved Placencia."

"After an initial mix-up of the rooms we were given a really nice 2 bed apartment overlooking the sea with a private hot tub. The hotel itself is really nice, very spacious. We had a 2 bed apartment which was massive and had a really good kitchen. The on-site restaurants are good but expensive ($30 USD for a small pizza), but kids' meals are reasonable. The biggest issue (not fault of the hotel) is that there is big sargassum issue from March to June which means you cannot enter the sea from the beach - this was a major disappointment as no picture shows this and there is a strong smell over the entire area. The hot tub is nice but the design meant that water could fall down (onto people walking below). The pools are small but fine. Taxis to the village are very expensive at $25 USD for 2 km but there are free bikes to use on site. The dock is great. Overall, I would recommend outside of the Sargassum season. "

"Do not stay at this hotel. The resort is nice, but they double-charged for my room. I paid Expedia for the room, but the resort charged me again. Both the resort and Expedia are refusing to issue a refund. If you want to risk theft, this is the place to stay."
