From the moment we checked in, we felt welcome and in a relaxing space. The owners of this boutique hotel have put much effort into making it a special place that exudes calm and kindness. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and quiet at night (the walls are thick, so one doesn't hear the neighbors). The interor garden with a pool is a lovely refuge. The hotel is close to many good restaurants and just a short walk to the lovely water of the lagoon. We highly recommend this hotel in Bacalar!

I really adored both Bacalar and this hotel. The design is so wild and whimsical, the staff are so sweet and helpful, the beds are nice and comfy and the location is perfect. Great coffee and’s food with in a block and right by an entrance to the lagoon. Also really loved the hotels very sweet furballs!

Best place in Bacalar.

Great location, close to downtown and great restaurants. Beautiful facilities, one feels like is in the middle of the jungle. Good wifi, ideal for those remote workers. But what really won my heart was the staff, always willing to help. I will definitely book this place again.

The team is super nice and attentive. The hotel is well maintained and has what’s needed. The location is great, close to the lagoon and a lot of restaurants right around the corner. You gotta be aware they have a few dogs and cats (very well groomed) living on the property,

Nice and comfortable! The room was excellent even with a Netflix account! Great location: a few blocks to the Fuerte de San Felipe and a few blocks to the Ecoparque Bacalar, where you can walk on a wooden pier and swim. Friendly staff!

From the moment you arrive you have become part of a family. Owners and staff are super friendly and kind and there are many stories to be told. As a senior I would have liked to see a grab bar in the shower, there was nothing to hold on to. The shower is strictly overhead, bring a shower cap if you want to keep your hair dry. Another essential item is a flashlight, the rooms are a bit on the dark side.

There is no onsite parking even though it says there is. We parked on the street. Room clean. Bathroom nice. Lots of hot water. Free water, coffee, tea in common area. Cute little welcome basket of Mexican candy. Cute and artsy.

Amazing staff — so friendly and helpful. Beautifully modern decorated room (rain shower, big smart tv, power outlets and switches on both sides of a pillowed king bed). We can’t recommend this plaice highly enough. A true gem!!

Wonderful visit to Bacalar

My friend and I took a day trip to Bacalar. The concierge/front desk staff Aldair was extremely sweet, knowledgeable and helped us set up excursions and recommendations even though it was a shorter trip. The rooms were nice and recently renovated, the grounds were spotless and we felt safe and secure the entire stay. If you are going to Bacalar, Casa Chukum is the way to go. 5 stars all the way.

Amazing stay at Casa Chukum

Absolutely loved our stay at Casa Chukum, this place made our trip to Bacalar. The staff could not do anymore for you, excellent service around the hotel and great recommendations! The place has such a lovely family feel with chilled vibes, loved the dogs and cats. The staff really went out of their way to add personal touches to our stay. Rooms are immaculate and well equipped, would also really recommend the breakfast. Thank you to Deborah and her team for such a wonderful experience! I hope that we will be able to visit again.

Wonderful stay at Casa Chukum

Our two night stay in Bacalar at Casa Chukum was like a vacation within a vacation during our monthlong stay in the Yucatan. Bacalar’s Lagoon of (at least) Seven Colors – robin egg blue, azure, blue/gray, azul, turquoise, aquamarine, cobalt blue – is nothing less than magical and mystical. But Casa Chukum was pure delight. We were welcomed like family, placed in a spacious second floor room with balcony and stairway to the roof deck, king size bed, very nice bathroom – instant comfort. The breakfast offerings from constant coffee to fruit and juices and a fantastic menu of Mexican and American breakfast favorites was wonderful. The boat ride the staff arranged with Captain George on the good sailboat Harmony was a highlight. Three hours sailing the lagoon, visiting the cenotes feeding the lagoon, swimming in a couple different locations, getting to view a sunset – well, very special indeed. We look forward to a next and hopefully longer visit to Casa Chukum and Bacalar

Vi boede i værelse 13. Der var ikke varmt vand til at bade i. Vi badede på forskellige tidspunkter i løbet af dagen, og resultatet var det samme. Intet varm vand. Værelset var ellers okay. Muligt at hente te/kaffe/vand hele tiden i lobby. Det var et plus. Ligger centralt i byen.
